PALESTINIANS HIJACKING HISTORY WITH LIES

LAND FOR PEACE (THE FUTURE 7 YEARS OF HELL ON EARTH)

JOEL 3:2
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

THE WEEK OF DANIEL 9:27 WE KNOW ITS 7 YRS

Heres the scripture 1 week = 7 yrs Genesis 29:27-29
27 Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.
28 And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.
29 And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid.

DANIEL 11:21-23
21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.

DANIEL 9:26-27
26 And after threescore and two weeks(62X7=434 YEARS+7X7=49 YEARS=TOTAL OF 69 WEEKS OR 483 YRS) shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary;(ROMAN LEADERS DESTROYED THE 2ND TEMPLE) and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.(THERE HAS TO BE 70 WEEKS OR 490 YRS TO FUFILL THE VISION AND PROPHECY OF DAN 9:24).(THE NEXT VERSE IS THAT 7 YR WEEK OR (70TH FINAL WEEK).
27 And he( THE ROMAN,EU PRESIDENT) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:(1X7=7 YEARS) and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,(3 1/2 yrs in TEMPLE SACRIFICES STOPPED) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

JEREMIAH 6:14
14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

JEREMIAH 8:11
11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

1 THESSALONIANS 5:3
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

ISAIAH 28:14-19 (THIS IS THE 7 YR TREATY COVENANT OF DANIEL 9:27)
14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

Op-Ed: Hijacking History With Deliberate Lies - Taqiyya Published: Monday, September 26, 2011 9:41 AM

Learn the truth, starting with Tacitus: Titus was appointed to complete the subjugation of Judaea...he commanded three legions ...amongst his allies were a band of Arabs, harboring towards the Jews...bitter animosity...Gerald A. Honigman
On September 23, 2011, Mahmoud Abbas officially demanded that the United Nations create Arab state # 22--the second, not first, Arab state within the original 1920 borders of the Mandate of Palestine. Jordan was carved out of some 80% of the total area after 1922.Among other fictions Abbas included in his speech was his purposeful neglect to mention any historical Jewish figures connected to the land. While mentioning Muhammad and Jesus, he deliberately left out the people Jesus was part of.

This was no accident; indeed, it is part of a pattern Arabs have displayed for quite some time now. You see, airplanes are not the only thing that Abbas and his earlier Arafatian predecessors have sought to hijack. Follow me closely below to see what I mean... Now Jesus having been born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod... is how the story of Jesus's birth begins in the second chapter of the Gospel of Matthew. Of course, if today's politically correct Church leaders were writing this account, it would undoubtedly read a bit differently. But notice, please, the location is Bethlehem of Judea...not the West Bank...not Palestine...but Judea--land of the Jews.Turning the clock back a bit, as the year 2003 began, the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan, Irineos, sought appointment as the Patriarch of Jerusalem. Letters with his signature on them to the late Egyptian ghoul--the West's current darling, Mahmoud Abbas's, good buddy and fellow Fatah terrorist colleague Yasir Arafat--contained, among other things, the following...You are aware of the...disgust...all the Holy Sepulchre fathers feel for the descendants of the crucifiers of our Lord Jesus...crucifiers of your people...Jewish conquerors of the Holy Land of Palestine.Irineos claimed that his 6/17/01 letter, revealed in the Israeli newspaper, Maariv, was a forgery. Unfortunately, there were many other documents of the same flavor making the rounds as well.Irineos' attitude, unfortunately, is not uncommon among many Christians--in the Middle East and elsewhere.Indeed, the quote above is virtually the same as words often spoken by the Greek Catholic Archbishop of Jerusalem, Hilarion Capucci, a few decades earlier. So it's safe to assume that many people share these beliefs. Some simply inherited and modified them from traditional Christian teaching. Others, feeling exposed and vulnerable themselves living among real or potentially hostile dominant Muslim populations, sought/seek common ground with their own off again/on again persecutors by turning the focus on everyone's favorite common demon, the Jew.

Christians played an important role in the nascent Arab nationalist movement in the late 19th and 20th centuries, and the above explanation was certainly one of the main motivating factors. This was not unlike some Jews seeking to be absorbed under the potentially protective, inclusive umbrella of various socialist movements in Christian Europe around the same time.During an earlier visit by the Pope to Israel, the media reported one of many of Mahmoud Abbas's late boss's and colleague's (Arafat) own frequent comments on this subject. Speaking of the Apostle Peter, Arafat explained the allegedly Palestinian--i.e. non-Jewish--identity of Peter & Co. Later day Arafatians like to repeat this as well. Indeed, that was Abbas's message in his remarks about Jesus to the United Nations on September 23rd.Now for a reality check:There was no Arab country nor nation known as Palestine during the time of Jesus (nor at any other time either). The land was known as Iudaea (Judea) and its inhabitants were Judaeans...Jews.As I often feel obliged to repeat, Tacitus, Josephus, and Dio Cassius were famous Roman and Roman-sponsored historians who wrote extensively about Judea's attempt to remain free from the Soviet Union of its day, the conquering Roman Empire. They lived and wrote not long after the two major revolts of the Jews in 66-73 C.E. and 133-135 C.E.Note that they make no mention of this land being called Palestine nor its people Palestinians. And they knew the differences between Jews and Arabs as well.My aim is for this quote to become a virtual mantra for my readers. That's how important the implications of its contents are in the discussion of this topic when the likes of Mahmoud Abbas try to claim aboriginal rights for their version of Palestinians.

Here is one of many such passages from Vol. II, Book V, The Works of Tacitus:
Titus was appointed by his father to complete the subjugation of Judaea...he commanded three legions in Judaea itself...To these he added the twelfth from Syria and the third and twenty-second from Alexandria...amongst his allies were a band of Arabs, formidable in themselves and harboring towards the Jews the bitter animosity usually subsisting between neighboring nations. After the 1st Revolt, Rome issued thousands of Judaea Capta coins which can be seen today in museums all over the world. Notice, please...Judaea Capta...not Palaestina Capta. Open up the url to my own book and look at the jacket cover to see one of those exact coins http://q4j-middle-east.com .To celebrate this victory, the Arch of Titus was erected and stands tall in Rome to this very day. When, some sixty years later, Emperor Hadrian decided to further desecrate the site of the destroyed Temple of the Jews by erecting a pagan structure there (not unlike the the reason for the revolt of the Maccabees a few centuries earlier against a Greco-Syrian Seleucid emperor, Antiochus), it was the grandchildren's turn to take on their mighty conquerors. The result of the struggle of this tiny nation for its freedom and independence was, perhaps, as predictable as that which would have occurred had Lithuania taken on the Soviet Union during its heyday of power, but they put up a good fight. Here's Dio Cassius referring to the destruction of Rome's entire 22nd Legion:580,000 men were slain, nearly the whole of Judaea made desolate. Many Romans, moreover, perished in this war (the Bar Kochba Revolt). Therefore Hadrian, in writing to the senate, did not employ the opening phrase commonly affected by the emperors, I and the legions are in health.

The Emperor was so enraged at the Jews' struggle for freedom that, in the words of the esteemed modern historian, Bernard Lewis, Hadrian made a determined attempt to stamp out the embers not only of the revolt but also of Jewish nationhood and statehood...obliterating its Jewish identity.Wishing to end, once and for all, the Jews' hopes, Hadrian renamed the land itself from Judaea to Syria Palaestina--Palestine--after the Jews' historic enemies, the Philistines, a non-Semitic sea people from the area around Crete. So sorry, Mahmoud, and your fellow Arafatians: Hijacking the Philistines' identity--as you have also tried to do regarding Jesus and the Jews-- won't work either. All of this did not occur until after 135 C.E., with the defeat of Judaea's charismatic leader, Shimon Bar Kochba.Add the breathtaking discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls practically at the very moment of Israel's rebirth over six decades ago by an Arab shepherd boy, along with Bar Kochba's letters to his troops, his minted coins For The Freedom Of Israel, and other archaeological treasures that were also soon unearthed - a gift from G-d to usher in the miraculous resurrection of the Jewish nation.Palestine later became largely Arab the same way that most of the twenty-one states that call themselves Arab today did, by the conquest, occupation, and forced Arabization of other countless millions of native, non-Arab peoples and their lands. Muhammad's and his successors' imperial Caliphal armies burst out of the Arabian Peninsula in the 7th century C.E. and spread out and colonized in all directions. From the 13th century onwards, the Arabs lost control of much, if not most, of their imperial, caliphal acquistions to Mongols, Mamluks, and assorted Turks. And when the Arabs' own empires ruled, it was from Damascus or Baghdad. There was never ever an independent Arab entity of Palestine back then either.

Despite Arab pipedreams, the Ottoman Turks were the latest in a long series of imperial conquerors to rule the land since the Jews of the Kingdom of Judea fought for their freedom against Rome. They did so for some four centuries until the end of World War I.During the Mandatory period that followed WWI, the League of Nations Permanent Mandates commission recorded scores of thousands of Arabs pouring into a largely depopulated Palestine from surrounding lands to take advantage of the economic development going on because of the Jews. Many more Arabs entered under cover of darkness and were never listed. All of these allegedly native Palestinians were preceded in the 19th century by thousands of Egyptians who came with Muhammad Ali and son Ibrahim Pasha's invading armies and never left.- just more Arab settlers setting up Arab settlements in Palestine.Arafat himself was one of them (born in Cairo, Egypt). Ditto for Hamas' virtual patron saint, Sheikh Izzedin al-Qassam ( for whom the rockets and terror brigade are named) from Latakia, Syria. So much for Mahmoud Abbas's allegedly non-Judean, Palestinian Jesus.Arabs have a word to describe such stuff. It's called taqiyya--deliberate lying to further their cause.

EU opinions multiply on Palestinian UN upgrade
Today SEPT 26,11 @ 09:25 By Andrew Rettman

Five EU countries have joined France in saying the UN should upgrade Palestine's status. Three have joined the UK in saying No. Others fall in between the two camps or are staying out of the debate for now.Belgium, Greece, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain in their UN General Assembly speeches over the weekend joined France in backing the upgrade. This session may be remembered as the one in which the general assembly granted Palestine the status of a non-member observer state. This decision could be supported by Spain, Spanish foreign minister Trinidad Jimenez said in New York on Saturday (24 September). Her speech was marked by a defence of Israel as a Jewish state, however - a red line for Palestinians who say that one fifth of Israeli citizens are Arabs and that Palestinian refugees in neighbouring countries should have the right of return.I wish to underline Spain's commitment to the state of Israel as the embodiment of the project to create a homeland for the Jewish people, she said.

Portuguese Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho backed the upgrade unconditionally. Belgian foreign minister Steven Vanackere said Palestine has now reached a level of statehood the world cannot ignore. Luxembourg foreign minister Jean Asselborn and his Greek counterpart Stavros Lambrinidis went even further, saying Palestine's appeal to get full UN membership must be heard and respected. In a second group, Finland, Malta and Sweden did not explicitly back an upgrade but underlined Palestine's rights and its institutional readiness for statehood while criticising Israeli settlement-building.Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Italy joined the UK and the US in the anti-upgrade camp.Italian foreign minister Franco Frattini told the UN: We continue to strongly back the American efforts to restart peace talks with no change in Palestine's UN status. Czech President Vaclav Klaus said I agree with [US] President Obama.Bulgarian foreign minister Nickolay Mladenov was confusing. On one hand he criticised Palestine's unilateral UN bid and supported Israel as a Jewish state. But on the other, he noted that Bulgaria already recognised Palestinian independence in 1988.Most of the other member states who spoke over the weekend - Austria, Cyprus and former Communist EU countries - did not take a position. The group, many of which are more interested in EU-Russia relations than the Middle East, instead repeated generalities about a two-state solution or said nothing on the subject.Germany and the Netherlands (traditionally pro-Israeli), Ireland and Denmark (pro-Palestinian) as well as Romania have not yet spoken at the UN event.

The EU's Catherine Ashton is trying to avoid a UN vote on the upgrade by promoting Israeli-Palestinian peace talks based on a timetable agreed by the Quartet - the EU, Russia, the UN and the US. Almost every EU country paid lip service to her official role as the union's foreign policy chief by wishing the Quartet well. The Quartet plan has suffered two early knock-backs, however.Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Sunday after returning home to a hero's welcome he cannot accept it because it does not call for a freeze on Israeli settlements. And Egyptian foreign minister Mohamed Kamel Amr said it is a failure because it is skewed in Israel's favour.

EU pitches counter-offers to Palestinian statehood bid 24.09.11 @ 17:38 By Andrew Rettman

EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton has unveiled an alternative proposal to a UN vote on recognising Palestine. But soft language on Israeli settlements and a competing French idea put the scheme in doubt.Ashton at a briefing in New York on Friday (23 September) endorsed a new model for Israeli-Palestinian peace talks put together by the Middle East Quartet - the EU, Russia, the UN and the US.This has been my primary objective - the belief that, through negotiations, we would be able to end this conflict and move to peace and security for the people of Palestine and the people of Israel, she said. The Quartet model is for negotiators to meet in one month's time and commit to ending the 70-year-old conflict by 2013. Follow-up meetings, one of them in Moscow, in three months' and six month's time, are to make substantial progress on territory and security. The Quartet in a joint communique [called] upon the parties to refrain from provocative actions. Unlike its three previous statements on the subject it said nothing on freezing Israeli settlements, however. It also made no explicit reference to Palestinian borders based on 1967 lines.Palestinian diplomats are studying the proposal and have said all options remain open, including ditching the UN membership bid for now. But their chief negotiator, Saeb Erekat, drew attention to settlements immediately after the Quartet offer came out. Israel needs to assume its own [responsibility] and end settlement activity,he told press in New York.Earlier the same day, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas put settlements at the core of his speech announcing the UN bid.The occupation is racing against time to redraw the borders on our land according to what it wants,he said. This policy is responsible for the continued failure of successive international attempts to salvage the peace process. For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told the UN General Assembly that settlement building in East Jerusalem will go on. He lambasted UN resolutions calling the city occupied land. I often hear them accuse Israel of Judaising Jerusalem. That's like accusing America of Americanising Washington, or the British of Anglicising London,he said.Meanwhile, the Palestinians are also studying a competing proposal unveiled by French President Nicolas Sarkozy two days before the Quartet.

The Sarkozy plan has the same timetable as the Quartet but calls for a big conference in Paris instead of Moscow. It also does not mention settlements. But it says Palestine should immediately get UN observer status, a move that would protect its 1967 lines and delegitimise Israeli outposts.Palestinian diplomats do not know which, if either, of the two models has the full backing of the 27 EU countries. And Sarkozy's gambit has done nothing for internal EU harmony.A number of EU diplomats told press in New York on an anonymous basis that Sarkozy has irked fellow EU countries by trying to hijack the process. One EU diplomat told this website France effectively stole the Quartet proposal by selling it as their own 48 hours before the Quartet reached its internal agreement. Like all EU member states, they were briefed on the Quartet discussions, so they knew exactly what was coming up,the contact said.

Settlers’ Begin Pro-Israel Campaign in Arab Areas-Jews in the Hevron area, described as settlers by most media, post pro-Israel signs on the highway frequently attacked by Arabs.By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu First Publish: 9/26/2011, 3:28 PM

Jews in the Hevron area, described as settlers’ by most media, post pro-Israel signs on the highway frequently attacked by Arab and where a rock-throwing terrorist caused the deaths of a father and baby son last Friday.Instead of carrying out violent price tag operations against Arabs, Hevron area residents hung posters and slogans on Highway 60, which connects Jerusalem with Gush Etzion and Hevron, according to the Bethlehem-based Ma'an news agency.Among the slogans were, This is the land of our fathers and grandfathers, and This is the Land of Israel. The posters also were displayed in Jerusalem neighborhoods predominantly populated by Arabs.Ma'an said some of the posters also threatened violence against Arabs, but unlike actions following recent terrorist attacks, Jewish residents’ response to last Friday’s deadly rock-throwing was bitter but generally quiet.A pro-Israel campaign in Arab areas is an innovation that spreads the message to Arabs of the historic and current Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria.

Meanwhile, Israel’s mainstream media have not pursued an investigation of why the IDF and police initially declared that Friday’s deaths were a result of a traffic accident allegedly caused by speeding. Similarly, Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovitch has not questioned the initial reaction by police.Earlier this year, after a violent pre-dawn raid on an outpost in Samaria, he did not investigate police who initially said that no rubber bullets or violence were used but later were forced to change their explanation following video evidence to the contrary.

Op-Ed: Mahmoud Abbas' Bag of Lies
Published: Monday, September 26, 2011 12:55 PM

A point by point rebuttal by our intrepid Italian MP.MP Fiamma Nirenstein
First published in Italian in Il Giornale, September 25, 2011, translation sent by the writer http://fiammanirenstein.com/articoli.asp?Categoria=5&Id=2704

After the round of applause to Mahmoud Abbas who asked the U.N. Security Council for the recognition of the Palestinian State, the Quartet tries to postpone the decision hoping for delay with the procedures and asking the parties to go back to the negotiating table. But the speech delivered by the Palestinian President reveals a narrative, an aggressive fantasy that completely denies any possibly of peace, that is the delegitimization of Israel itself. The first misunderstanding is the worst:
Abbas, while promising to respect Israel and to search for peace, insists on the 1948 nakba. For him, the Jewish State is an illegitimate colonial presence. He refers to the nakba, to an occupation since 1948, not since 1967: he says that refugees - like him, he underlined - still keep the keys of their home in Haifa or in Safed (where he was born and from which he fled in 1948 to Syria). They must go home to Israel, not to Palestine. He forgets that they left because of a war staged by five Arab countries against the partition plan. The new Palestinian state, as drawn on the UN website of the Palestinian delegation or in the textbooks of the Palestinian pupils, is the map of Israel.

Abbas said that, out of generosity, the Palestinians accept restricingt their territory to 22 per cent of the Historical Palestine. But he doesn’t say that this Palestine (a name derived from Filistin - a non native, but Mediterranean population - that the Romans gave to the area) is one of the countries designed in 1920 by the League of Nations (like Syria or Iraq) after the collapse of the Turkish Empire. And that it was allotted to the Jewish people in recognition of its ancestral rights. The British Mandate took later on the political decision to split it in order to give part of the land to Jordan.Abbas speaks about an ethnic cleansing that never happened. If ever, his plan affirms that his new Palestinian State will ban any presence of Jews. Then comes the other hateful invention that he builds in his speech step by step: Israel is a racist and apartheid State. This is simply inconceivable. It will suffice to look at the incredible mix of colors, cultures, ethnic groups from the Knesset on to hospitals and schools…Then the lie that it is Israel that hampers the negotiations: since the time of the Arab three nos in Khartoum in 1967, Israel has offered land for peace as envisaged in Resolution 242. Israel withdrew from all the Palestinian cities under the Oslo agreement and 98 per cent of Palestinian Arabs live in the Autonomous areas. The number of checkpoints, that Abbas describes as a sadistic game of the Jews, has actually been reduced by Netanyahu's government – contrary to what Abbas claims – and what is left is designed to control possible terrorists. Israel has all the reasons in the world to do it, as Friday's murders showed..

Another lie: that Israel is impairing the Palestinian economy. Indeed it has propelled it intensively and would certainly do more if the Palestinians had a less aggressive attitude. Then the annexation fence - as Abu Mazen calls it - has actually stopped terrorism. What annexation is he talking about? The territories: Egypt made peace and it obtained Sinai. Israel left Lebanon and Gaza unilaterally and certainly the results have not been very encouraging. The Judea and Samaria communities: they only account for 1.36 per cent of the West Bank. The last settlement approved dates back to 1999. It is true that the natural growth is high, but Netanyahu froze their construction for ten months and he did not receive any signal from the Palestinians about the renewal of negotiations. Today residents actually complain of a de facto freeze. Finally, Abu Mazen states that the Palestinians are only armed with their hopes. He knows all too well that they are armed with arms. Israel has been hit by thousands of missiles fired from Gaza and many of them are long-range Grad, a kind gift from Iran.It would be better to negotiate instead of spreading blame and hatred before the U.N., which always applauds sympathetically the Palestinians, too much of an easy game.

Netanyahu: Abbas Trying to Detour Negotiations-Netanyahu on Meet the Press: The Palestinians are trying to get a state without giving Israel peace. That should not succeed.By Elad Benari First Publish: 9/26/2011, 5:15 AM

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday said that the Palestinian Authority’s unilateral statehood bid was simply a way to detour peace negotiations.Speaking on NBC’s Meet the Press just two days after PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ UN speech and Netanyahu’s own response speech, the Prime Minister said, The Palestinians want a state, but they have to give peace in return. What they’re trying to do in the United Nations is to get a state without giving Israel peace or giving Israel peace and security…That should not succeed. But what should succeed is for them to actually sit down and negotiate with us to get two states for two peoples, a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes a Jewish state.Netanyahu added that the PA’s leadership is trying to get away without negotiating. They’re trying to get a state to continue the conflict with Israel rather than to end it. They’re trying to basically detour around peace negotiations by going to the UN and have the automatic majority in the UN General Assembly give them, give them a state. That’s unfortunate.Netanyahu rejected the host’s suggestion that Israel is isolated following the Arab Spring. We’re not isolated in this country, which happens to be the strongest country on earth,he said.I walked yesterday in Central Park. You know, people met me. Jewish-Americans, but many non-Jewish-Americans and they said, Keep the faith. We’re strong. Be strong. We’re with you.

Many, many countries are coming to realize that our demand that we have direct negotiations and that the Palestinians finally recognize a Jewish state and give this tiny country Israel the security requirements it needs, people are getting around to that, added Netanyahu.Responding to a question about whether President Barack Obama is as good a friend of Israel as President George W. Bush was, Netanyahu said: Israel enjoys tremendous bipartisan support. This is what, I think, is one of the great blessings that Israel has in the, in the 21st century. And I think that bipartisan support is expressed by any person who happens to be the president of the United States, including President Obama. Every one of the U.S. presidents represents and acts on the tremendous innate friendship of the American people to Israel.Netanyahu expressed his disappointment at the fact that Abbas refused to recognize the Jewish right to the land of Israel and his claim that Israel has been occupying Palestinian territory for 63 years. Why can’t you recognize our history? he said. Why can’t you recognize the Jewish connection to the Jewish land? And why can’t we work out--recognize the past, seize the future? And I'm willing to do that. Finally, Netanyahu responded to former President Bill Clinton’s remarks last week, who was critical of Netanyahu and said that his government has moved away from the consensus for peace, making a final agreement more difficult.

I regretfully and respectfully disagree with former President Clinton, Netanyahu said. He should know more than anyone else that in the peace conference that he presided in Camp David in 2000 with Arafat and former Prime Minister Barak, it was the Palestinian side who walked away from his own parameters. And in 2008, President Bush can tell you how the Palestinian side, led by President Abbas walked away, just would not close in on another prime minister’s suggestions. And in the two and a half years since then, anybody conversant with the facts knows that I made these offers again and again, called for two states for two peoples, froze the settlements. Nobody did that ever for nearly a year. They didn’t come, they don't want to come, and they go around to the UN.We could arrive in an arrangement that takes care of Israel’s security needs and gives the Palestinians a life of dignity for themselves, but they have to have leaders who are prepared to do it, he added. And you know what, I hope they do, not only for our sake, for their sake, too.
