7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.(RUSSIA-EGYPT AND MUSLIMS)
10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:

6 And I will send a fire on Magog,(NUCLEAR BOMB) and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

EZEKIEL 39:11-16
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
14 And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.
15 And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man’s bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamongog.
16 And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land.

Seventeen dead as Syrians stage mass protests Beirut: Syrian security forces, undaunted by the presence of Arab League observers, have killed at least 12 protesters as hundreds of thousands demonstrated against the government of President Bashar al-Assad, opposition activists said.Five members of the security forces were also killed in a shooting in the city of Homs, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Friday.Assad, 46, has signed up to an Arab League plan for a verifiable withdrawal of his troops and heavy weaponry from towns and cities, where they have been trying to crush protests that have raged since March.But the presence of Arab League monitors in hotspots across Syria since Monday has, if anything, energised the protesters, while provoking scepticism in Western countries.
Demonstrators determined to show the scale of their movement to the monitors threw rocks at security forces in the Damascus suburb of Douma, where troops tear-gassed the chanting crowds.Five people were shot dead in the city of Hama and five in the city of Deraa as crowds braved army and police, the Observatory reported, adding that at least two dozen people had been injured in Douma.We are determined to show them (the monitors) we exist. Whether or not there's bloodshed is not important, an activist named Abu Khaled said by phone from the northern city of Idlib.Most foreign media are banned from Syria and witness reports and videos are hard to verify. An opposition supporter named Manhal said thousands had tried to reach the main square of Idlib to start a sit-in but failed because the security forces are firing a lot of tear gas and a few rounds of live fire.People hoped the presence of monitors will prevent fierce attacks. I believe we have partial protection, I don't think they would use live fire on us in front of the monitors.The Observatory said security forces had shot dead two people and wounded 37 in Idlib province.
Sea of protesters
Amateur video from Idlib showed monitors in white baseball caps and yellow safety vests wading through a sea of protesters.Some rushed at the observers, trying to shout over the thousands chanting The people want to liberate the country!More than 5,000 people have been killed across Syria since March - most shot during peaceful anti-government protests but many others killed in rebel attacks and local defense actions.Protesters flooded the streets of many towns, shouting Peaceful, Peaceful and The people want you executed, Bashar! Some held up banners with the names of those shot dead in protests. We will not forget your spilled blood,they read.In parts of Hama, videos showed protesters fleeing the main streets as heavy gunfire erupted in the background. In one such segment, a few men rushed back, ducking in the crackle of gunfire, to carry away a man who had fallen limp in the street.In the Damascus suburb of Douma, protesters bore away a man whose leg had been shredded by what they said were nail bombs.Activists in Idlib said the Army had concealed its tanks in buildings on the outskirts or in dugouts.The Arab League mission has met with strong scepticism from the outset over its makeup, its lack of numbers - due to rise from 60 to 150 - and its reliance on government transport.
A first assessment by its Sudanese head that the situation was reassuring prompted disbelief in the West Wednesday, but Friday Syria's ally Russia accepted the judgement.Judging by the public statements made by the chief of the mission (Sudanese general Mohammed) al-Dabi, who in the first of his visits went to the city of Homs, the situation seems to be reassuring,Russia's Foreign Ministry said on its website.However Friday Dabi, whom some link to war crimes in Darfur in the 1990s, said the reports of his comments were unfounded and not true, a mission statement said.
Impartiality
The United Nations said it was critical that the team's independence and impartiality be fully preserved.Spokesman Martin Nesirky urged the Arab League to take all steps possible to ensure that its observer mission will be able to fulfil its mandate in accordance with international human rights law standards.He said the United Nations was willing to give the League observers training on human rights monitoring.The monitoring teams have encountered a range of problems, from hostility when they turn up under army escort to random gunfire, shouting mobs and breakdowns in communications.An Arab League member from a Gulf State played down expectations for the mission, which has no peacekeeping mandate.Even if its report turned out to be negative, it would not act as a bridge to foreign intervention but simply indicate that the Syrian government has not implemented the Arab initiative, the delegate said.The commander of the anti-government Free Syrian Army said he had ordered his fighters to stop offensive operations while the FSA tried to arrange a meeting with the monitors.All operations against the regime are to be stopped except in a situation of self defense,Colonel Riad al-Asaad said.We have tried to communicate with them and we requested a meeting with the team. So far there hasn't been any success.Just how widely the Turkey-based commander's order will be heeded by rebel forces inside Syria is open to question. A video shot by rebels this week showed the ambush of a convoy of army buses in which, activists said, four soldiers were killed.The FSA, formed by thousands of defectors from Assad's army and financed by expatriate Syrians, has taken the offensive in the past three months, taking the fight to the state rather than simply trying to defend opposition strongholds.Its decisions are potentially crucial to any peace plan.Syria says it is fighting Islamist militants steered from abroad who have killed more than 2,000 of its troops. Palestine - Bye Bye Oslo, Hullo Jordan and Egypt

Veteran Middle East correspondent Robert Fisk may have been a little premature when he stated on 20 September:It’s over: the peace process, the road map, the Oslo agreement; the whole fandango is history.Personally, I think Palestine is a fantasy state, impossible to create now that the Israelis have stolen so much of the Arabs’ land for their colonial projects.Fisk - in attributing this simplistic reason for signing Oslo’s death certificate - totally ignored the two offers made by Israel in 2001 and 2008 to cede its claims under the Mandate for Palestine and the United Nations Charter in more than 90% of the land won from Jordan in the 1967 Six Day War.
The real reasons for Oslo’s demise are far deeper and more complex - revealing unbridgeable gaps between Israel and the PLO in reaching any agreement with regard to the following issues after failed on and off negotiations extending over the last 19 years:Israel’s demands that
Israel be recognized as the Jewish State
Any Palestinian State be demilitarized
The final borders determined between it and a Palestinian State be secure and recognized boundaries as stipulated by United Nations Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338 the PLO’s demands that Israel cede its claims in 100% of the territory won from Jordan in the 1967 War - with possibly equivalent land swaps to negate the removal of Jews from their homes in the West Bank and East Jerusalem
Israel agree to accept millions of Palestinian Arabs - and their descendants - who became refugees as a result of the 1948 War
Fisk’s prediction has however been given added weight with the news this week that Hamas has agreed to join the PLO.
If this was to actually occur Israel’s Prime Minister made his government’s position very clear when Israel Radio reportedly quoted him as saying that if Hamas joins the Palestinian government, he would refuse to conduct peace negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.Little comfort can be taken from the news that the Palestinian Authority might now be prepared to resume the long stalled peace negotiations with Israel if it released 100 prisoners. The parties can talk till the cows come in. But after 19 fruitless years - can sufficient pressure be put on both sides to come to an agreement on all their outstanding demands? The Oslo Accords - and the Palestinian Authority - were born amid great enthusiasm in 1993.The Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee - Francis Sejersted - expressed the following hopes of the Committee when awarding the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize jointly to Yasser Arafat, Shimon Peres and Yitzchak Rabin
In the committee’s view, the so-called Oslo Accords concluded last year between Israel and the PLO meant that developments in the Middle East had taken a new turning. What was revolutionary about them was the de facto mutual recognition by the two parties. Not least by virtue of that recognition, the accords opened up a possible way out of the vicious circle of violence breeding violence, and towards peaceful co-existence.The Nobel Committee’s optimism was misplaced.Yasser Arafat had signed a side letter dated 9 September 1993 - nine days prior to signing the Declaration of Principles in which he assured Yitzchak Rabin:The signing of the Declaration of Principles marks a new era…I would like to confirm the following PLO commitments: The PLO recognizes the right of the State of Israel to exist in peace and security. The PLO accepts United Nations Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338. The PLO commits itself…to a peaceful resolution of the conflict between the two sides and declares that all outstanding issues relating to permanent status will be resolved through negotiations…the PLO renounces the use of terrorism and other acts of violence and will assume responsibility over all PLO elements and personnel in order to assure their compliance, prevent violations and discipline violators…the PLO affirms that those articles of the Palestinian Covenant which deny Israel’s right to exist, and the provisions of the Covenant which are inconsistent with the commitments of this letter are now inoperative and no longer valid. Consequently, the PLO undertakes to submit to the Palestinian National Council for formal approval the necessary changes in regard to the Palestinian Covenant.
In breach of those commitments:
The PLO Covenant still remains unchanged and unrevised in 2011.
The PLO has rejected the idea of Israel being entitled to secure and recognized borders as required under Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338
The PLO has unilaterally sought to gain statehood - not through negotiations - but by seeking recognition and admission to the United Nations and UNESCO.
The PLO is demanding pre-conditions for resuming the stalled negotiations with Israel.

G-d Went Into Gaza

Miracles in Gaza is the name of this very inspiring video. Like an onion, there are layers and layers one can peel to see different aspects of Israel. Right now, Israel just finished celebrating the miraculous and joyful holiday of Chanukah, and school has started back as of today. The news is rife with a group of violent Haredi extremists called the Sikrikim. We need more rain in Israel. The Arab Spring is turning into a winter. And in international news, Iran is still a major worry to Israel and the West. Peel away all the brown paper lining of the onion, and one remembers that G-d put the Jewish people here in Israel for a purpose, and He promises us that He will be with us if we keep the Torah. It's a miracle, that we in Israel can live, go to school, shop in malls, celebrate birthdays and weddings, barbecue in our yards, learn at universities, travel on vacation, and pursue our hobbies and interests, when we are surrounded by hundreds of millions of Jew-hating Islamists who want to slit our throats and throw us into the sea. It's a miracle that we are alive here, and even more of a miracle that we survive so WELL here with a special quality of life, despite the glassy-eyed, salivating, rag heads out there with sharpened knives that surround us.
While we have a lot we can worry or complain about, we have a lot we need to be grateful for too. We need to remember how blessed we are, and that living in this tough neighborhood of the Middle East, that G-d is still with us. We just need to look for Him. -And sometimes we can't help but see Him and His handiwork.Now, watch this inspiring video, of how G-d accompanied our soldiers into battle. I don't think I got teary-eyed because my own son is now in the paratroopers. I got teary-eyed because I too can get distracted by all the 'buzz' of the news, the kvetching, the arguments, etc... and forget to see the bigger picture. You decide for yourself where you choose to stand, and what you choose to perceive when you look at life in Israel. But always remember, G-d is with you where you let Him be, where you make space for Him. He will even go into battle with our sons in Gaza.

Palestine - Bye Bye Oslo, Hullo Jordan and Egypt

Veteran Middle East correspondent Robert Fisk may have been a little premature when he stated on 20 September:It’s over: the peace process, the road map, the Oslo agreement; the whole fandango is history.Personally, I think Palestine is a fantasy state, impossible to create now that the Israelis have stolen so much of the Arabs’ land for their colonial projects.Fisk - in attributing this simplistic reason for signing Oslo’s death certificate - totally ignored the two offers made by Israel in 2001 and 2008 to cede its claims under the Mandate for Palestine and the United Nations Charter in more than 90% of the land won from Jordan in the 1967 Six Day War.
The real reasons for Oslo’s demise are far deeper and more complex - revealing unbridgeable gaps between Israel and the PLO in reaching any agreement with regard to the following issues after failed on and off negotiations extending over the last 19 years:Israel’s demands that
Israel be recognized as the Jewish State
Any Palestinian State be demilitarized
The final borders determined between it and a Palestinian State be secure and recognized boundaries as stipulated by United Nations Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338 the PLO’s demands that Israel cede its claims in 100% of the territory won from Jordan in the 1967 War - with possibly equivalent land swaps to negate the removal of Jews from their homes in the West Bank and East Jerusalem
Israel agree to accept millions of Palestinian Arabs - and their descendants - who became refugees as a result of the 1948 War
Fisk’s prediction has however been given added weight with the news this week that Hamas has agreed to join the PLO.
If this was to actually occur Israel’s Prime Minister made his government’s position very clear when Israel Radio reportedly quoted him as saying that if Hamas joins the Palestinian government, he would refuse to conduct peace negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.Little comfort can be taken from the news that the Palestinian Authority might now be prepared to resume the long stalled peace negotiations with Israel if it released 100 prisoners. The parties can talk till the cows come in. But after 19 fruitless years - can sufficient pressure be put on both sides to come to an agreement on all their outstanding demands? The Oslo Accords - and the Palestinian Authority - were born amid great enthusiasm in 1993.The Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee - Francis Sejersted - expressed the following hopes of the Committee when awarding the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize jointly to Yasser Arafat, Shimon Peres and Yitzchak Rabin
In the committee’s view, the so-called Oslo Accords concluded last year between Israel and the PLO meant that developments in the Middle East had taken a new turning. What was revolutionary about them was the de facto mutual recognition by the two parties. Not least by virtue of that recognition, the accords opened up a possible way out of the vicious circle of violence breeding violence, and towards peaceful co-existence.The Nobel Committee’s optimism was misplaced.Yasser Arafat had signed a side letter dated 9 September 1993 - nine days prior to signing the Declaration of Principles in which he assured Yitzchak Rabin:The signing of the Declaration of Principles marks a new era…I would like to confirm the following PLO commitments: The PLO recognizes the right of the State of Israel to exist in peace and security. In breach of those commitments:
The PLO Covenant still remains unchanged and unrevised in 2011.
The PLO has rejected the idea of Israel being entitled to secure and recognized borders as required under Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338
The PLO has unilaterally sought to gain statehood - not through negotiations - but by seeking recognition and admission to the United Nations and UNESCO.
The PLO is demanding pre-conditions for resuming the stalled negotiations with Israel.

The Psalm 83 Payback

Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face. (Deuteronomy 7:9-10, nkjv)
Did you know that there are those who hate the Lord? It seems unfathomable and unimaginable! I’m not alluding to the arrogant atheist that denies the existence of the Lord. Or the Hindu that believes the Lord shares his throne with a multiplicity of pagan deities. Rather, I’m referring to a sizeable block of Arab Muslim populations that want to discredit the Lord’s covenant making character altogether by destroying the Jews.These Deuteronomy verses clearly state that the Lord repays those who hate Him. But how does one demonstrate a genuine hatred on earth of a God that resides in heaven? One primary method is to attack covenants made between God and man. The specific covenant alluded to in the above verses is the Abrahamic covenant. We recognize this from Deuteronomy 7:12 two verses later.Then it shall come to pass, because you listen to these judgments, and keep and do them, that the LORD your God will keep with you [Israelis] the covenant and the mercy which He swore to your fathers. [Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob]Prefacing all the above, Deuteronomy 7:6-8 reminds us that the Lord elected the Jews as a chosen people making them the benefactors of this oath.For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
We can surmise that the Abrahamic covenant must still be in effect because Deuteronomy 7:9 declares that the Lord keeps his (Abrahamic) covenant for a thousand generations, which would be 40,000, 70,000, or 100,000 years depending on which biblical generation model you select.Actually, Genesis 17:7-8, 13, and 19 inform that the Abrahamic Covenant is everlasting, and Genesis 13:15 and Jeremiah 31:35-36 promises that the Jewish race will survive forever. However, for the purposes of this article a thousand generations sufficiently makes the point that the Jews are going to be around for a very long time. Especially when you consider that the Abrahamic covenant has only been operational for approximately 4,000 years.
Interestingly, about 3,000 years ago the Hebrew seer Asaph said the following.[i]
For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head…They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.(Psalm 83:2, 4 nkjv).Who possesses the gumption to hate the Lord and desires to eradicate Israel? According to Asaph’s above verses the Lord has both enemies, and haters! The enemies make a tumult, but the haters have lifted their head against the Lord, rather than bowed it before Him. The New American Standard Version of the Bible says the haters have exalted themselves.Interestingly 1 Peter 5:5-6 preaches that people should resist pride and be humble, therefore allowing the Lord to exalt the meek in due time. But, apparently patience and humility are not virtues possessed by these haters. Asaph rightly labels them as haters because they want to destroy Israel to defame the Lord.
The attached table identifies and delineates between the enemies and haters listed in Psalm 83:6-8. The probable haters are those boldly italicized within the image. Moreover, the image identifies their modern day equivalents alongside their ancient titles. Coincidentally, the haters all have familial ties with the Jewish patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Psalm 83 Chart
The Edomites descended from Jacob’s twin brother Esau. They are listed first among the Psalm 83 confederates. This identifies them as the lead participant of the prophecy. Moreover, they are dwelling in tents when the Psalm prophecy occurs. This suggests that they are refugees at the time. Interestingly, residing within today’s Palestinian refugees is an ethnic contingency of Edomites. Genesis 27:41 declares that Esau hated Jacob and desired his death. This hatred is still evident today exemplified by the facts that the Palestinians don’t recognize Israel as the Jewish state, or include maps of Israel in their children’s educational text books.The Ishmaelites descended from Isaac’s half-brother Ishmael. Ishmael is highly venerated over Isaac in the religion of Islam. Ishmael is commonly called the father of the Arabs.Ishmael severely mocked Isaac when he was weaned according to Genesis 21:9. Isaac’s weaning identified him as the rightful heir to the Abrahamic covenant. Ishmael’s scoffing displayed his covetous disposition. This disdain toward the Israelis is evident in Ishmael’s Saudi descendants today. Saudi Arabia forbids the building of synagogues and churches along with the worship of the God of the Bible.
The Hagarenes primarily descended through Ishmael, the son of Hagar the Egyptian, concubine of Abraham. Hagar had her share of jealous bouts with Abraham’s wife Sarah.
The Moabites and Ammonites descended from Abraham’s nephew Lot, making them the cousins of the Hebrews. Their history was shrouded with conflicts and territorial disputes over the Promised Land with their Hebrew cousins.The Amalekites were descendants of Esau’s grandson Amalek, (Genesis 36:12) thus making Abraham Amalek’s great-grandfather. The Amalekites were the first to attack the Hebrews after their exodus from Egypt.
Thus, there were mothers, sons, brothers, cousins, and great grandkids that spawned an ancient hatred of the Jews. This perpetual enmity is acknowledged in Ezekiel 25:15 and 35:5. These haters coveted the rich contents of the covenant the Lord made with the Jewish patriarchs. The patriarchs were promised;
1. A great name and nation (Genesis 12:2),
2. A comprehensive and binding international foreign policy (Genesis 12:3),
3. Eternal descendants (Genesis 13;15),
4. A Promised Land (Genesis 15:18),
5. An eternal throne (kingdom) (2 Samuel 7:12-15)
6. An everlasting law (Jeremiah 31:31-34),
7. A Messianic seed to bless all the families of the earth (Genesis 26:4, 28:14).

Family Fueds
The opening verses of this article state that the Lord repays those who hate Him to their face. Unlike the coward that shoots a man when his back is turned, the Lord assures the haters that they will recognize the hand that repays them for their hatred of Israel.Psalm 83 predicts the formation of an Arab confederacy that will someday attempt the annihilation of the Jews. This futile attempt will fail because the Lord keeps His covenant and mercy for a thousand generations. The Israel Defense Forces appear to exist today as the Lord’s tool to repay those who hate Him to their face. The scriptures concerning this Arab verses IDF face-off are identified in my book Revelation Road, Hope Beyond the Horizon.God is love according to 1 John 4:16, and yet Malachi 1:3 points out that the Lord has hated Esau. The connection to be made is that long ago through Abraham and Isaac that God covenanted with Jacob, Esau’s twin brother. This covenant is in place for at least 1000 generations, meaning that it is still effective today. Similar to the hatred Esau exhibited toward Jacob nearly 3900 years ago, his Edomite descendants demonstrate today against Jacob’s descendants, the Israelis.Ultimately Esau’s Edomite descendants, representing today’s Palestinians, make a covenant of their own that is contrary to the longstanding one between the Lord and Israel.For they [the Arabs] have consulted together with one consent; Against thee [the Lord] do they make a covenant: (Psalm 83:5, asv).
The Hebrew word used here for covenant is berith and it is the same word used for the Lord’s covenant with Abraham regarding the Promised Land in Genesis 15:18. Therefore, in the climactic clash of the covenants, which Psalm 83:12 informs concerns the Promised Land, only one covenant can prevail. The Lord’s will win out!
In conclusion, God is love. He proved this by sending His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for man’s sins on the cross of Calvary approximately 2000-years ago. If the Lord had His druthers, He would obviously prefer that the Arabs respected His unconditional covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However, since they don’t, they leave Him no choice but to prevent them from destroying the Jews.Events stage-setting in the Middle East today suggest that Psalm 83 is an imminent event. The Arabs are about to face off with the Jews, but, in so doing they will demonstrate their disdain toward the Lord. Before they pull the trigger and bullets begin to fly they should read Deuteronomy 7:9-10, because once the battle begins it’s too late, and the Lord will repay them to their face for their hatred.

The Psalm 83 Payback

Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face. (Deuteronomy 7:9-10, nkjv)
Did you know that there are those who hate the Lord? It seems unfathomable and unimaginable! I’m not alluding to the arrogant atheist that denies the existence of the Lord. Or the Hindu that believes the Lord shares his throne with a multiplicity of pagan deities. Rather, I’m referring to a sizeable block of Arab Muslim populations that want to discredit the Lord’s covenant making character altogether by destroying the Jews.These Deuteronomy verses clearly state that the Lord repays those who hate Him. But how does one demonstrate a genuine hatred on earth of a God that resides in heaven? One primary method is to attack covenants made between God and man. The specific covenant alluded to in the above verses is the Abrahamic covenant. We recognize this from Deuteronomy 7:12 two verses later.Then it shall come to pass, because you listen to these judgments, and keep and do them, that the LORD your God will keep with you [Israelis] the covenant and the mercy which He swore to your fathers. [Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob]Prefacing all the above, Deuteronomy 7:6-8 reminds us that the Lord elected the Jews as a chosen people making them the benefactors of this oath.For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
We can surmise that the Abrahamic covenant must still be in effect because Deuteronomy 7:9 declares that the Lord keeps his (Abrahamic) covenant for a thousand generations, which would be 40,000, 70,000, or 100,000 years depending on which biblical generation model you select.Actually, Genesis 17:7-8, 13, and 19 inform that the Abrahamic Covenant is everlasting, and Genesis 13:15 and Jeremiah 31:35-36 promises that the Jewish race will survive forever. However, for the purposes of this article a thousand generations sufficiently makes the point that the Jews are going to be around for a very long time. Especially when you consider that the Abrahamic covenant has only been operational for approximately 4,000 years.
Interestingly, about 3,000 years ago the Hebrew seer Asaph said the following.[i]
For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head…They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.(Psalm 83:2, 4 nkjv).Who possesses the gumption to hate the Lord and desires to eradicate Israel? According to Asaph’s above verses the Lord has both enemies, and haters! The enemies make a tumult, but the haters have lifted their head against the Lord, rather than bowed it before Him. The New American Standard Version of the Bible says the haters have exalted themselves.Interestingly 1 Peter 5:5-6 preaches that people should resist pride and be humble, therefore allowing the Lord to exalt the meek in due time. But, apparently patience and humility are not virtues possessed by these haters. Asaph rightly labels them as haters because they want to destroy Israel to defame the Lord.
The attached table identifies and delineates between the enemies and haters listed in Psalm 83:6-8. The probable haters are those boldly italicized within the image. Moreover, the image identifies their modern day equivalents alongside their ancient titles. Coincidentally, the haters all have familial ties with the Jewish patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Psalm 83 Chart
The Edomites descended from Jacob’s twin brother Esau. They are listed first among the Psalm 83 confederates. This identifies them as the lead participant of the prophecy. Moreover, they are dwelling in tents when the Psalm prophecy occurs. This suggests that they are refugees at the time. Interestingly, residing within today’s Palestinian refugees is an ethnic contingency of Edomites. Genesis 27:41 declares that Esau hated Jacob and desired his death. This hatred is still evident today exemplified by the facts that the Palestinians don’t recognize Israel as the Jewish state, or include maps of Israel in their children’s educational text books.The Ishmaelites descended from Isaac’s half-brother Ishmael. Ishmael is highly venerated over Isaac in the religion of Islam. Ishmael is commonly called the father of the Arabs.Ishmael severely mocked Isaac when he was weaned according to Genesis 21:9. Isaac’s weaning identified him as the rightful heir to the Abrahamic covenant. Ishmael’s scoffing displayed his covetous disposition. This disdain toward the Israelis is evident in Ishmael’s Saudi descendants today. Saudi Arabia forbids the building of synagogues and churches along with the worship of the God of the Bible.
The Hagarenes primarily descended through Ishmael, the son of Hagar the Egyptian, concubine of Abraham. Hagar had her share of jealous bouts with Abraham’s wife Sarah.
The Moabites and Ammonites descended from Abraham’s nephew Lot, making them the cousins of the Hebrews. Their history was shrouded with conflicts and territorial disputes over the Promised Land with their Hebrew cousins.The Amalekites were descendants of Esau’s grandson Amalek, (Genesis 36:12) thus making Abraham Amalek’s great-grandfather. The Amalekites were the first to attack the Hebrews after their exodus from Egypt.
Thus, there were mothers, sons, brothers, cousins, and great grandkids that spawned an ancient hatred of the Jews. This perpetual enmity is acknowledged in Ezekiel 25:15 and 35:5. These haters coveted the rich contents of the covenant the Lord made with the Jewish patriarchs. The patriarchs were promised;
1. A great name and nation (Genesis 12:2),
2. A comprehensive and binding international foreign policy (Genesis 12:3),
3. Eternal descendants (Genesis 13;15),
4. A Promised Land (Genesis 15:18),
5. An eternal throne (kingdom) (2 Samuel 7:12-15)
6. An everlasting law (Jeremiah 31:31-34),
7. A Messianic seed to bless all the families of the earth (Genesis 26:4, 28:14).

Family Fueds
The opening verses of this article state that the Lord repays those who hate Him to their face. Unlike the coward that shoots a man when his back is turned, the Lord assures the haters that they will recognize the hand that repays them for their hatred of Israel.Psalm 83 predicts the formation of an Arab confederacy that will someday attempt the annihilation of the Jews. This futile attempt will fail because the Lord keeps His covenant and mercy for a thousand generations. The Israel Defense Forces appear to exist today as the Lord’s tool to repay those who hate Him to their face. The scriptures concerning this Arab verses IDF face-off are identified in my book Revelation Road, Hope Beyond the Horizon.God is love according to 1 John 4:16, and yet Malachi 1:3 points out that the Lord has hated Esau. The connection to be made is that long ago through Abraham and Isaac that God covenanted with Jacob, Esau’s twin brother. This covenant is in place for at least 1000 generations, meaning that it is still effective today. Similar to the hatred Esau exhibited toward Jacob nearly 3900 years ago, his Edomite descendants demonstrate today against Jacob’s descendants, the Israelis.Ultimately Esau’s Edomite descendants, representing today’s Palestinians, make a covenant of their own that is contrary to the longstanding one between the Lord and Israel.For they [the Arabs] have consulted together with one consent; Against thee [the Lord] do they make a covenant: (Psalm 83:5, asv).
The Hebrew word used here for covenant is berith and it is the same word used for the Lord’s covenant with Abraham regarding the Promised Land in Genesis 15:18. Therefore, in the climactic clash of the covenants, which Psalm 83:12 informs concerns the Promised Land, only one covenant can prevail. The Lord’s will win out!
In conclusion, God is love. He proved this by sending His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for man’s sins on the cross of Calvary approximately 2000-years ago. If the Lord had His druthers, He would obviously prefer that the Arabs respected His unconditional covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However, since they don’t, they leave Him no choice but to prevent them from destroying the Jews.Events stage-setting in the Middle East today suggest that Psalm 83 is an imminent event. The Arabs are about to face off with the Jews, but, in so doing they will demonstrate their disdain toward the Lord. Before they pull the trigger and bullets begin to fly they should read Deuteronomy 7:9-10, because once the battle begins it’s too late, and the Lord will repay them to their face for their hatred.

So let’s continue to be praying for the Prime Minister and for all the people of Israel this Chanukah and Christmas season. Let’s continue to mobilize Christians around the world to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as The Joshua Fund continues to do. And let the name of Jesus — Yeshua in Hebrew — be lifted up among all this Christmas season, just as it was amongst the Israeli shepherds in the field outside of Bethlehem so long ago. In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. Isaiah 17:4 - In that day it shall come to pass That the glory of Jacob will wane, And the fatness of his flesh grow lean. Isaiah 17:7 – In that day a man will look to his Maker, And his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel. (v8) He will not look to the altars, The work of his hands; He will not respect what his fingers have made, Nor the wooden images (Asherim) nor the incense altars.
Isaiah 17:9 – In that day his strong cities will be as a forsaken bough And an uppermost branch, Which they left because of the children of Israel; (IDF) And there will be desolation.
Isaiah 17:10 – Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, And have not been mindful of the Rock of your stronghold, Therefore you will plant pleasant plants And set out foreign seedlings; (v11 ) In the day you will make your plant to grow, And in the morning you will make your seed to flourish; But the harvest will be a heap of ruins In the day of grief and desperate sorrow. (v12) Woe to the multitude of many people Who make a noise like the roar of the seas, And to the rushing of nations That make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! L. A.: What do you think is going to happen in the Middle East?
Bill: Diplomacy will fail and wars of epic Biblical proportion will commence. Ancient prophetic texts predicted several Mideast wars would occur in the end times. I believe these wars will come in the chronological order listed below.
1. Psalm 83 is the climatic concluding Arab-Israeli war that Israel wins.
2. Isaiah 17 predicts the destruction of Damascus, which I believe will happen prior to or during the Psalm 83 war.
3. Jeremiah 49:34-39 informs of an invasion of Iran under the ancient banner of Elam in the end times. This may involve an attack on Iranian nuclear sites. I believe this will happen before, during, or after Psalm 83.
4. Ezekiel 38 & 39 foretell of a coming Russian-Iranian led invasion of Israel with Turkey, Libya, Ethiopia and several others to capture great spoil. I believe this war is the granddaddy of all the above and happens subsequent to these other conflicts. Importantly, Israel wins in all these wars. It is difficult to know if Israel is involved in the Jeremiah 49 prophecy, but the IDF appears to be. After these wars above I believe Israel will construct their third Temple, and annex more territory.
L. A.: The Arab Spring has changed the political landscape of the Middle East, how does this affect Israel?
Bill: The Arab Spring has created an unpredictable and highly unstable environment for Israel. Liberal pundits expect democracies to flourish as a result of the Arab protests and revolts of 2011, but I expect to see several regime changes that implement strict Sharia Law. Moreover, I anticipate a push by these new regimes to support the plight of the Palestinians. Thus, they will be pro-Palestinian and anti-Semitic. This will probably lead to the Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17 scenarios above.
L. A.: What do you think Bashar Assad will do in the wake of the recent killing of Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi?
Bill: There is a slight possibility that the Assad regime will be toppled like Gaddafi’s in Libya. But, more than likely, Assad will tighten his grip on his hold over Syria. He does not want to be the next Mubarak of Egypt, or Gaddafi of Libya. His repression of the Syrian revolts that began in March of 2011 has pushed him past the point of no return. He realizes that he can’t turn back the clock, the atrocities are too great, and he is subject to either being killed like Gaddafi, or put on trial like Mubarak. Neither option appeals to him. He wants to remain in power.The problem is that rather than take a bullet to the head like Gaddafi, Assad will call on Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas to create an apocalyptic war against Israel to distract from his present dilemma and if successful wind up as a hero in the eyes of many Arabs. I believe Assad will not go down without a fight, and the fight will probably cause Psalm 83 to commence, and Damascus to be destroyed.
L. A.: Syria has threatened to bomb Tel Aviv if they are attacked, how does this figure into prophecy?
Bill: I haven’t specifically found any prophecies regarding Tel Aviv, but the consensus among military analysts and also many eschatologists is that if Syria attacks Tel Aviv, Israel will obliterate Damascus. This would be prophetic fulfilling Isaiah 17:1, which says Damascus will someday cease to be a city by being reduced to rubble. It would also fulfill Isaiah 17:9 that suggests Israel is responsible for the toppling of Damascus, and it will probably happen over a 24-hour period according to Isaiah 17:14. Israel presently possesses the military technologies to fulfill Isaiah 17:1, 9 and 14 all in one swoop.
L. A.: US troops are going to leave Iraq by Christmas, what are your thoughts on that?
Bill: American troop deployment out of Iraq, gives Iran the opportunity to accomplish what they fought Saddam Hussein eight years for between 1980-1988, and that is another Iranian proxy state. Prime Minister Nouri Maliki and radical Muslim cleric Muqtada al-Sadr are friends with Iran, and with each other. Maliki will need Iran’s support to remain in power. I expect Iran to move quickly in 2012 to secure Iraq as another proxy state with Maliki’s full support. If Iran is successful, this will add yet another proxy arrow inside the Iranian quiver alongside Syria and the terrorist organizations of Hezbollah and Hamas.
Then they will move to wipe Israel off of the map in order to give the Palestinians a homeland in a future Arab state they hope to call Palestine. Palestine then becomes another Iranian proxy state and possesses control over Jerusalem, which is Islam’s third holiest site. I don’t believe this will happen, but do believe this is Iran’s end goal.Jordan and Saudi Arabia would then be next on Iran’s proxy agenda. If they can control Saudi Arabia, then they can possess sovereignty over Islam’s two holiest sites in Mecca and Medina. Iran is attempting to form a Shia Crescent in the Fertile Crescent. I label it as an attempt by Iran to form hegemony over the entire Middle East in an area I call Iranistan.
L. A.: Iran most likely has the bomb, how does that affect the region?
Bill: I attended a Banquet in Beverly Hills, CA on 9/10/11 with former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton who feared the world will have to accept a nuclear Iran. He said, and I concur, that the balance of power in the Middle East would shift dramatically and force Saudi Arabia, and Egypt to obtain nuclear weapons also to protect their sovereignty over their respective countries. If Iran goes nuclear, and Israel may pre-empt a strategic strike to prevent this from occurring, a nuclear device will go off in the Middle East.Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes he was called to this cause by Allah. He is committed to creating an apocalyptic condition against Israel, and / or America in order to hasten the return of His Shiite Messiah called Muhammad al-Mahdi. A nuclear weapon enables him to fulfill what he believes is his calling according to his twisted Islamic eschatology. In the ultimate from of Jihad, I anticipate that Ahmadinejad, if he gets a nuclear weapon, will launch it at Israel fearlessly.
L. A.: Do you believe that we are in the birth pains as described in Matthew 24?
Bill: I do believe this. The Matthew passages read:
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows, or (Birth Pangs in some translations). (Matthew 24:7-8, nkjv).Some of us believe nation came against nation in World Wars I and II. I believe kingdom against kingdom is a direct quote by Christ out of Isaiah 19:2, which predicts a regional Middle East conflict. I believe kingdom will come against kingdom in Psalm 83 when the Arab kingdom comes against the reestablished Jewish kingdom. The Jewish kingdom is now a presently reality since 1948. Earthquakes are increasing worldwide, causing famines and pestilences also. All of the above seem to indicate that the birth pangs are occurring.
L. A.: You have a new book coming out, tell us about it.
Bill: Revelation Road is a unique reading experience. It is two books in one. It begins with a novel and is supported by a separate section called the “Companion’s Commentary.” The commentary adds veracity to the text of the novel and Biblical believability to the storyline. It is about a Grandfather who believes his 12-year old grandson has been birthed in the final generation. The grandfather attempts to prepare the young lad for the apocalyptic events encountered inside the novel story.
Much of what I answered above is thoroughly explained in the book. The commentary explains why I said what I said in the novel. The fictitious story of the characters could become the true story of the individual reader as they simultaneously experience the prophecies unfold during their lifetimes.
L. A.: Why did you decide to write fiction?
Bill: The goal of utilizing a dual format style of writing was to reach Joe the plumber and Sebastian the scholar at the same time. Some people only read novels and others only non-fiction commentaries. Revelation Road encourages the reading of both sections, but in actuality each section can be read independently of the other. I believe the information contained in Revelation Road is intended for every man, woman, and child to learn from rather than just a few eschatologists.
L. A.: What do you hope to accomplish with Revelation Road?
Bill: I hope to impart wisdom to humanity by introducing and explaining the pertinent Bible prophecies of our time. In so doing the inerrancy of the Bible will be evidenced and ultimately the Messiah-ship of Christ confirmed. The good news gospel is presented in both the novel and the commentary.
L. A.: Your closing thoughts?
