One of the victims of this morning's deadly attack at a Jerusalem synagogue has been identified as the "Rosh Kollel" of the Torat Moshe yeshiva, Rabbi Moshe Twersky.Torat Moshe Yeshiva, sometimes called ToMo for short by its students, is an advanced level English-speaking yeshiva named for Rabbi Moshe Soloveitchik and founded by his grandson, Rabbi Moshe Meiselman.Rabbi Twersky was among four people murdered when two Palestinian terrorists stormed the Kehillat Bnai Torah Yeshiva Synagogue in Jerusalem's Har Nof neighborhood armed with axes, knives and guns during morning prayers.Eight other people were injured in the ensuing slaughter - four of them seriously. Harrowing pictures from the scene showed bodies still wrapped in their prayer shawls (tallitot) and tefilin scattered on the floor.Rabbi Twersky's funeral will begin at 14:00 today from the Beit HaTalmud yeshiva in Har Nof.The terrorists have been identified as cousins Uday and Rassan Abu Jamal, from the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukhaber.The pair were killed in a gunfight with police first-responders, two of whom are among the wounded.Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived at the scene initially encountered only one body - but the scope of the massacre soon became clear when they entered further into the building.Eye-witnesses have told of the gruesome scene as the attack unfolded."There were people running from the synagogue, and a man sitting on the pavement covered in blood, it looked like he has been stabbed," said local resident Sarah Abrahams, who was walking past when it happened."Two people came out with their faces half missing, looking like they'd been attacked with knives," she said as hundreds of hareidi Jews pressed up against the police tape, a few chanting "Death to terrorists."Fighting back tears, Moshe Eliezer said he had narrowly avoided being at the scene after oversleeping."This is a yeshiva community. Rabbi Levine (50) leaves behind a wife and nine children, as well as five grandchildren.Rabbi Twersky was born in the US and made aliyah in 1990 with his family. He leaves behind a wife, five children and ten grandchildren. Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, a prominent head of the Lithuanian hareidi community, eulogized the rabbi saying "he was a great and holy man. One of the victims of this morning's deadly attack at a Jerusalem synagogue has been identified as the "Rosh Kollel" of the Torat Moshe yeshiva, Rabbi Moshe Twersky.Torat Moshe Yeshiva, sometimes called ToMo for short by its students, is an advanced level English-speaking yeshiva named for Rabbi Moshe Soloveitchik and founded by his grandson, Rabbi Moshe Meiselman.Rabbi Twersky was among four people murdered when two Palestinian terrorists stormed the Kehillat Bnai Torah Yeshiva Synagogue in Jerusalem's Har Nof neighborhood armed with axes, knives and guns during morning prayers.Eight other people were injured in the ensuing slaughter - four of them seriously. Harrowing pictures from the scene showed bodies still wrapped in their prayer shawls (tallitot) and tefilin scattered on the floor.Rabbi Twersky's funeral will begin at 14:00 today from the Beit HaTalmud yeshiva in Har Nof.The terrorists have been identified as cousins Uday and Rassan Abu Jamal, from the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukhaber.The pair were killed in a gunfight with police first-responders, two of whom are among the wounded.Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived at the scene initially encountered only one body - but the scope of the massacre soon became clear when they entered further into the building.Eye-witnesses have told of the gruesome scene as the attack unfolded."There were people running from the synagogue, and a man sitting on the pavement covered in blood, it looked like he has been stabbed," said local resident Sarah Abrahams, who was walking past when it happened."Two people came out with their faces half missing, looking like they'd been attacked with knives," she said as hundreds of hareidi Jews pressed up against the police tape, a few chanting "Death to terrorists."Fighting back tears, Moshe Eliezer said he had narrowly avoided being at the scene after oversleeping."This is a yeshiva community. Ninety percent don't serve in the army. We're not violent," he said.Police said six people were wounded, among them two policemen who had engaged in a gunbattle with the terrorists.They said the attackers were two cousins from the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabal Mukaber.Speaking to journalists at the scene, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat expressed shock at the scale of the bloodshed."To slaughter innocent people while they pray... it's insane," he said.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad have hailed this morning's massacre at a Jerusalem synagogue, in which four worshipers were murdered and many more wounded by Palestinian terrorists.In a statement, the Hamas terrorist group said it was "a response to the murder of the martyr Yusuf Ramuni," referring to a Palestinian bus driver who committed suicide on Monday but whose death Islamists have been blaming on "settlers.""The operation in Jerusalem is a response to the murder of the martyr Yusuf Ramuni and to the series of crimes by the occupier at Al-Aqsa and Hamas calls to continue these operations," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said in a statement."Hamas calls for more operations like it." Islamic Jihad echoed the comments in a separate statement."Islamic Jihad salutes the operation in Jerusalem which is a natural response to the crimes of the occupier," it said.In Tuesday morning's terrorist attack, two Muslim terrorists stormed a synagogue in the Jerusalem suburb of Har Nof armed with knives, axes and a pistol and proceeded to butcher Jewish worshipers during morning prayers.Police who arrived at the scene shortly after shot dead both attackers, who are believed to both be Arab residents of Jerusalem.AFP contributed to this report.

A media gag order has been lifted on the full list of victims of Tuesday morning's massacre in Har Nof, Jerusalem - where two Palestinian Arabs brutally murdered four people and wounded eight others as they were in the midst of morning prayers.The four victims were Rabbi Moshe Twersky, hy"d, 'Rosh Kollel' for the 'Torat Moshe' yeshiva; Rabbi Kalman Levine, hy"d; Aryeh Kupinsky, hy"d, and Avraham Shmuel Goldberg, hy"d. Police revealed that all four victims were dual citizens, with three holding American citizenship, and the fourth British citizenship.Kupinsky (43) lost his 13-year-old daughter Chaya Hana two years ago. Goldberg (68) made aliyah (immigration) to Israel in 1991, and leaves behind a wife and six children. Rabbi Levine (50) leaves behind a wife and nine children, as well as five grandchildren.Rabbi Twersky was born in the US and made aliyah in 1990 with his family. He leaves behind a wife, five children and ten grandchildren. Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, a prominent head of the Lithuanian hareidi community, eulogized the rabbi saying "he was a great and holy man. He was so close to G-d in his holy life and was murdered in the middle of his prayer, with the tefilin (phyllacteries) on his head."Rabbi Twersky's funeral was to be held at 2 p.m. at the Torat Moshe yeshiva in Sanhedria. The funeral services for Rabbi Levine, Mr. Kupinsky, and Mr. Goldberg began at 3 p.m. at the synagogue in which they were murdered, the Kehillat Bnai Torah Yeshiva Synagogue in Har Nof.

Yossi Dagan, the head of media relations for the Samaria Regional Council, filed a formal complaint Tuesday with the Government Press Office (GPO) against a CNN reporter for equating the terrorists involved in the Har Nof massacre with the victims.According to Dagan, American CNN reporter Ben Wedeman was responsible for the headline describing the massacre under the headline, "Israeli police shot dead two Palestinian civilians" - when, in fact, the shooters were Palestinian terrorists who killed four Jews and wounded eight others as they prayed the morning service before being killed in a gun battle with police.Dagan charged that the headline was a serious violation of international journalism ethics, and called to revoke Wedeman's press license and, generally, bring anti-Semitic coverage of terror attacks by foreign journalists to an end - permanently. "There is no reality elsewhere in the world where journalists can report a terror attack in this style," he stated. "This rule should also apply to foreign reporters in Israel. There is good and there is bad, there are killers and there are victims." "The media arena in recent years has become an equally important battlefield for Israel, and it must use all the tools at its disposal to demand certain baselines in its media coverage," he continued.
