Eleven year-old Ayala Shapira, who was injured in the firebomb attack near Ma'ale Shomron Thursday night, is being treated for numerous injuries and burns she sustained in the attack. Shapira is in serious condition. Doctors said they are “fighting” to save her life.Ayala was driving in a car with her father, Avner, on the access road to the new community of El Matan when they were attacked by Arab terrorists who threw a firebomb at his vehicle Thursday night. The two suffered burns, but managed to escape from their burning vehicle. They were treated on the scene by Magen David Adom rescue workers and taken to Sheba (Tel Hashomer) hospital. The girl is said to be in serious condition by doctors.The incident occurred on a service road between Ma'ale Shomron and the new community of El-Matan. Ma'ale Shomron is located off Road 55, which stretches between Kfar Sava and Shechem. IDF troops were in pursuit of the terrorists. Speaking outside his daughter's hospital room, Shapira said that the terrorist needed to be treated like one. “The man who did this was not a criminal, he was a terrorist. He was a soldier of the Arab enemy, which is carrying out a war of annihilation against us. The ease on the strictures we have given terrorists has led to many attacks on our roads. It is illogical how we are letting them do this,” he said.“No country in the world would tolerate this situation,” he continued. “We call on the Prime Minister to use a heavy hand against these monsters, despite what some hypocrites in the European Union would say. The High Court on Thursday ordered the state to dismantle the new community of Amona within two years. If the decision stands, it would be the final one in a long-running legal struggle of Amona residents to ward off the tractors of the Civil Administration, which have long been poised to demolish the community's homes.In its decision, the Court said that despite the facts that the details of ownership of land have not yet been fully established, “the homes in Amona are built on private land and there is no way to legalize their presence. The IDF commander of Judea and Samaria must actively protect the property rights of all residents, and that includes preventing unauthorized parties from taking property that does not belong to them. Construction of homes by such parties on private land is illegal and in lieu of any other arrangement they must be torn down.”The court, in a decision written by Chief Justice Asher Gronis, rejected claims by Amona residents that they had legally purchased the land. Even if they had, Gronis said, the homes there were built without permits or licenses from planning commissions and other legal bodies whose approval is required for construction.“It is not with an easy conscience that we issue orders to evict people from their homes, where they have lived for many years. There is no doubt that the implications of this decision could be very serious, for the residents and their families. But despite that we cannot allow illegal building on private land, and we must require the demolishing of the homes,” Gronis added.Amona has been the subject of a game of legal ping pong for nearly two decades, with the state alternatively seeking to build, preserve, and demolish it. Amona, in central Samaria, was established in 1995 on land that Arabs had cultivated, but had no clear ownership to. In 2004, the state ordered the demolition of nine homes that had been built on the site, and in 2006, the IDF and police came out in full force to remove residents and hundreds of protestors who hoped to halt the demolition. Over 300 people were injured, including three MKs. In an inquiry later, the Knesset decided that the police had exercised excessive force in removing the protestors.

The two suffered burns, but managed to escape from their burning vehicle. They were treated on the scene by Magen David Adom rescue workers and taken to a hospital in Kfar Sava. The girl is said to be in very serious condition by doctors.The incident occurred on a service road between Maale Shomron and the new community of El-Matan. Ma'ale Shomron is located off Road 55, which stretches between Kfar Sava and Shechem. IDF troops were in pursuit of the terrorists.Housing Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) called on the army to retaliate to firebombs as it does to attacks from the Gaza Strip."Firebombs have one goal - to kill Jews," he said in a statement, calling on the prime minister and army to respond with "severity and harshness."MK Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home) slammed the Left for its role in facilitating the attack. “When a little girl is hurt by a firebomb we should keep in mind who it was that prevented the transfer of funds to protect private vehicles and public transportation in Judea and Samaria, arguing about every shekel that was allocated. The High Court on Thursday ordered the state to dismantle the new community of Amona within two years. If the decision stands, it would be the final one in a long-running legal struggle of Amona residents to ward off the tractors of the Civil Administration, which have long been poised to demolish the community's homes.In its decision, the Court said that despite the facts that the details of ownership of land have not yet been fully established, “the homes in Amona are built on private land and there is no way to legalize their presence. The IDF commander of Judea and Samaria must actively protect the property rights of all residents, and that includes preventing unauthorized parties from taking property that does not belong to them. Construction of homes by such parties on private land is illegal and in lieu of any other arrangement they must be torn down.”The court, in a decision written by Chief Justice Asher Gronis, rejected claims by Amona residents that they had legally purchased the land. Even if they had, Gronis said, the homes there were built without permits or licenses from planning commissions and other legal bodies whose approval is required for construction.“It is not with an easy conscience that we issue orders to evict people from their homes, where they have lived for many years. There is no doubt that the implications of this decision could be very serious, for the residents and their families. But despite that we cannot allow illegal building on private land, and we must require the demolishing of the homes,” Gronis added.Amona has been the subject of a game of legal ping pong for nearly two decades, with the state alternatively seeking to build, preserve, and demolish it. Amona, in central Samaria, was established in 1995 on land that Arabs had cultivated, but had no clear ownership to. In 2004, the state ordered the demolition of nine homes that had been built on the site, and in 2006, the IDF and police came out in full force to remove residents and hundreds of protestors who hoped to halt the demolition. Over 300 people were injured, including three MKs. In an inquiry later, the Knesset decided that the police had exercised excessive force in removing the protestors.
