WHEN ARE THE 500 MILLION MIGRATING BIRDS IN ISRAEL IN THE SPRING TIME.(GET READY ISLAM TO BE BIRD SEED FOR THESE BIRDS)
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/m0bXU5Xqc5M
The 500 million migratory birds in Israel during the spring arrive from Africa and head toward Europe and Asia, with the peak migration occurring in March and April. While migration starts in late February, the most intense movements, particularly of birds of prey, storks, and pelicans, occur during the third week of March and continue into April.
Key Details on the Spring Migration
Peak Period: Mid-March through April.
Main Migration Route: The birds use the Great Rift Valley, which includes the Hula Valley and Eilat, acting as a "bottleneck" where millions of birds fly through the narrow land bridge.
Best Spots: The Hula Lake Park (Northern Israel) and the Eilat Birding Center (Southern Israel) are primary locations for observing the migration.
Key Species: Hundreds of thousands of white storks, along with black kites, raptors, and pelicans, pass through over these months.
uration: The spring migration runs from late February and continues into June, though the heaviest traffic is in March/April.
The 500 million migratory birds fly over Israel in the fall between late August and mid-December. The peak migration period for the autumn, when the highest volume of bird traffic occurs, is typically October and November.
Key Fall Migration Details
Location: The Hula Valley (Agamon Hula Park) in northern Israel is the premier spot to witness this phenomenon.
Timing: Migration starts as early as late June with some waders, but intensifies from mid-August through November.
Peak Festival: The "Annual Hula Valley Bird Festival" is usually held in November to align with the peak migration traffic.
Key Species: Many birds of prey (raptors), including honey buzzards and steppe eagles, cross during this time, along with massive flocks of storks and cranes.
While roughly 500 million birds pass through in the autumn on their way to Africa, the same number crosses again in the spring (mid-February to May) on their way back to Europe and Asia.

23 Concerning Damascus.(SYRIA) Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea;(WAR SHIPS WITH NUKES COMING ON SYRIA) it cannot be quiet.
24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!
26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.
27 And I will kindle a fire (NUKES OR BOMBS) in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.(ASSADS PALACES POSSIBLY IN DAMASCUS)

Two dead, three wounded as missile intercepted in Abu Dhabi: government media office.
Abu Dhabi, March 26 (AFP) Mar 26, 2026-Two people were killed and three were wounded by falling debris after air defences intercepted a ballistic missile on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, the government media office said on Thursday."The incident resulted in the deaths of two unidentified individuals, three injuries, and damage to a number of cars," the Abu Dhabi Media Office said in a post on X.
Strikes near Iran, Israel nuclear sites risk 'unmitigated catastrophe': UN.
Geneva, March 25 (AFP) Mar 25, 2026-Strikes around Iran and Israel's nuclear sites risk unleashing an "unmitigated catastrophe", the United Nations rights chief said Wednesday, warning that the Middle East war had created an "extremely dangerous" situation.Speaking before the UN Human Rights Council, where countries were holding an urgent debate on Tehran's attacks across the Gulf, Volker Turk warned that many of the strikes in the weeks-long war "raise serious concerns under international law".In particular, Turk cautioned that "recent missile strikes near nuclear sites in both Israel and Iran underscore the immense danger of further escalation"."States are flirting with unmitigated catastrophe."His comments came after the UN nuclear watchdog said Iran had informed it that "another projectile hit the premises" of the Bushehr nuclear power plant on Tuesday, without damaging it.Over the weekend, an Iranian strike hit the southern Israeli town of Dimona, home to a nuclear facility, in what Tehran said was in response to an earlier attack on its nuclear site at Natanz."The situation is extremely dangerous and unpredictable, and has created chaos across the region," Turk said, insisting that "we cannot go back to war as a tool of international relations".The UN rights chief also warned that "this conflict has an unprecedented power to ensnare countries across borders and around the world"."The complex dynamics could ignite further national, regional or global crises at any moment, with an appalling impact on civilians and people everywhere."The rare urgent debate at the rights council, requested by Bahrain on behalf of the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan, was focused exclusively on Iran's strikes on countries across the Gulf region and their impact on civilians. In the debate, branded by Tehran as "detached from reality", the 47-member council was considering a draft resolution that "condemns in the strongest terms the egregious attacks" by Iran, condemns Tehran's actions aimed at closing the Strait of Hormuz and voices "grave concerns at the Iranian attacks on energy infrastructure".It demands Iran "cease all unprovoked attacks" against the GCC states and Jordan, and "provide full, adequate, effective and prompt reparation for all injury and damage... caused by its internationally illegal wrongful acts".It does not mention Israel or the United States.
Israel says air defences responding to Iranian missiles.
Jerusalem, March 26 (AFP) Mar 26, 2026-The Israeli military said air defences were responding to missile attacks from Iran on Thursday, with sirens activated across central Israel, parts of Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.In two separate statements about 20 minutes apart, the military said it had "identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel"."Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat," the statements said. After the first attack, the military said people were "now permitted to leave protected spaces in all areas of the country".Israel's Magen David Adom emergency medical service said there were no reports of casualties. The attacks came more than 14 hours after the military had previously announced incoming missiles from Iran.Central Israel came under fire overnight from Lebanon, where Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah claimed a series of attacks targeting military sites. Israeli media said six rockets were intercepted.
Trump, fearing slaughter, said to have rejected Netanyahu proposal to jointly call for Iranian uprising-PM reportedly asked Trump last week to issue the call after Israel killed Larijani and Basij chief, but Trump worried protesters would ‘get mowed down’; Netanyahu then issued his own, less clearcut, call, and no protests materialized By Nava Freiberg,Lazar Berman and ToI Staff Today, 5:15 am-MAR 26,26
US President Donald Trump reportedly rejected a proposal last week by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to jointly call on the Iranian public to take to the streets and topple the regime during the war against Iran, with the president fearing the protesters would be slaughtered.Netanyahu ended up issuing a less clear-cut call on his own, encouraging Iranians to go to the streets to celebrate an annual festival. The reported conversation points to persisting differences between Israel and the US over the extent to which regime change is a goal of the war with Iran. The report, which appeared on Channel 12 and Axios on Wednesday, cited senior American officials and an Israeli source familiar with the details. The discussion reportedly took place hours after Israel on March 17 assassinated top Iranian officials Ali Larijani, the former secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, and Gholamreza Soleimani, former head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Basij Force. The Basij took a central role in repressing the mass anti-regime protests earlier this year. According to activist groups, thousands, and perhaps tens of thousands, were killed in the crackdown.Netanyahu is said to have told Trump after the assassinations that the Iranian regime was in chaos, and that the time had come to further destabilize it by issuing the joint call.Trump, however, reportedly expressed concern that such a call could lead to mass bloodshed as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps would likely murderously suppress the protesters as regime forces had in January.“Why the hell should we tell people to take to the streets when they’ll just get mowed down,” Trump said to Netanyahu, Axios reported, citing a US official who was briefed on the conversation. The two leaders instead agreed to reassess developments the following day, when Iranians celebrated the Persian Fire Festival, a holiday often marked by large public gatherings. In the event, however, Netanyahu went it alone, urging Iranians later on March 17 to take to the streets to celebrate the ancient festival.“In the past 24 hours, we knocked out two of the terrorist chieftains, the top terrorist chieftains of this tyranny,” Netanyahu said from the Air Force command bunker in the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv.“Our aircraft are hitting the terror operatives on the grounds, in the crossroads, in the city squares,” he said in English. “This is meant to enable the brave people of Iran to celebrate the Festival of Fire.”The festival, Chaharshanbe Suri, is seen by the Islamic Republic as a pagan holiday, and its celebrations often feature anti-regime protests. In the end, no mass demonstrations materialized.According to the Axios report, while Netanyahu views creating the conditions for regime change as a core objective of the war, Trump sees toppling the regime as a “bonus,” US officials said.Trump touted the possibility of a popular uprising at the beginning of the war. But as he announced this week that the US had begun talks with Iran, Trump remarked to CNBC that “this is regime change.”According to the US outlet, Trump based his assessment on the fact that many Iranian leaders had been killed and replaced. One day earlier, Israel’s ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, said the war with Iran had to continue until the Islamic Republic’s regime was degraded to the extent that it would have “no power” and the Iranian people could rise up and topple it.“What we have to focus on now is degrading to the point where they have no power left in this regime,” he said. “Hopefully, that will trigger this combustion point where the people are able to take charge of their own lives. Our focus has to be on degrading this regime to the point where they no longer pose a threat to us, to the region, to the world.”
Netanyahu: War 'continuing at full force'Trump: Iran wants deal ‘so badly’; White House says campaign ‘very close’ to meeting goals-US president said to seek quick end to war; Tehran reportedly tells mediators ceasefire must include end to Israel-Hezbollah fighting; Iran’s FM, parliament speaker said temporarily taken off US-Israeli hit list; Israel trying to hobble Iran’s arms industry By Jacob Magid,Lazar Berman,Agencies and ToI Staff Today, 3:49 am-MAR 26,26
US President Donald Trump insisted that Iran has been negotiating with his administration and “badly” wants a deal, hours after his press secretary said the US is “very close” to achieving its objectives in the bombing campaign. The comments on Wednesday came amid ongoing reports on talks between the US and Iran nearly four weeks into the US-Israeli war with the Islamic Republic. The US formulated a 15-point proposal to halt the conflict, which elicited a cold response from Tehran. Among other demands, Iran’s leaders are said to be insisting that any ceasefire include an end to fighting between Israel and the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, an Iranian proxy.Against that backdrop, Israel is continuing its attacks on the regime, reportedly worried that Trump could end the war abruptly. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the campaign was “continuing at full force,” as was the fight against Hezbollah.White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said American operations were running ahead of the four-to-six-week timeline the US had set for the war, and that the key goals were almost achieved. “From the outset,” Leavitt said, Trump and the Pentagon “estimated it would take approximately four to six weeks to achieve this critical mission.”“Twenty-five days in, the greatest military the world has ever known is ahead of schedule and performing exceptionally,” she said. “We are very close to meeting the core objectives of Operation Epic Fury, and this military mission continues unabated.”Later in the day, Trump said Iranian officials were not admitting that they have been negotiating with the US because they are scared of being killed.“They want to make a deal so badly, but they’re afraid to say it, because they figure they’ll be killed by their own people. They’re also afraid they’ll be killed by us,” Trump said at a Republican fundraising event.According to a report in The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday night, Trump wants a quick conclusion to the war and hopes to end it in the coming weeks, before a May meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. He is also wary of using ground troops in Iran, the report said. The comments came as US officials cited by the Wall Street Journal said the US and Israel have temporarily removed Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf from a hit list of top Iranian officials.Araghchi and Qalibaf were reportedly taken off the list for four to five days in a bid to jumpstart the talks with Iran, though the US officials cited by the Journal said the talks had little chance of success.Iran has reacted coldly to the 15-point US ceasefire plan that would reportedly require Iran to dismantle its nuclear program, limit its ballistic missiles and stop supporting terrorist proxies. In addition, six regional sources familiar with Iran’s position, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, said the Islamic Republic had told intermediaries as early as mid-March that any ceasefire agreement with the US and Israel must also include a halt to Israel’s attacks on Hezbollah.Iran’s official Press TV also cited an Iranian official saying Tehran wants any deal with the United States to secure an end to the war on both Iran and “resistance groups” in the region, referring to the terror groups the regime supports.Israel fears Trump will end war abruptly-Israel is working to urgently hit as many high-priority targets in Iran as it can due to concerns that Trump could end the war suddenly, the New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing two senior Israeli officials and two people briefed on the matter.According to the report, Netanyahu on Tuesday instructed the military to take out as much of Iran’s arms industry as possible in the coming 48 hours.Netanyahu and Israel’s security chiefs reportedly do not believe that Trump’s 15-point plan would ensure that the Iranian nuclear and ballistic missile threat is removed.Netanyahu said during a video meeting with local government heads from the northern border area that the campaign against Iran is “continuing at full force, despite what is reported in the media.”Turning to Israel’s fight against Hezbollah in Lebanon, he asserted that the threat of an invasion of northern Israel by the terror group “no longer exists,” adding that Israel is creating an expanded buffer zone in Lebanon to push back threats from Hezbollah’s anti-tank missiles. Now, he said, the focus is on “dismantling Hezbollah.”“We are determined to do everything to fundamentally change the situation in Lebanon,” he promised.Netanyahu also stressed that Israel’s commitment to protecting the Druze in Syria “remains in force.”Israel has pushed ground troops deeper into Lebanon and launched heavy airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds there after the terror group renewed its rocket attacks on Israel on March 2 amid the Iran war.

According to Biblical scripture (Genesis 12:7, 15:18),
God promised the land of Canaan—stretching from the River of Egypt to the Euphrates—to Abraham and his descendants as a permanent possession. This unconditional promise, or covenant, is seen by many as a divine right for the Jewish people to inhabit the land.
Key Aspects of the Promised Land.
Biblical Covenant: God explicitly promised this land to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is described as a permanent, "everlasting possession".
Geographical Extent: The biblical,, promise covers a broad area including modern-day Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, and parts of neighboring countries like Jordan, Egypt, Syria, and Iraq.
The Land Covenant: Known as the Palestinian Covenant, this promised that even if the Israelites were dispersed, they would eventually return to the land.
Fulfillment & Symbolism: While some believe the promise was fulfilled during the time of Joshua (Joshua 21:43-45), many interpretations argue that the full extent of the land will not be realized until a future era, often interpreted as the return of the Messiah.
Modern Significance: The return of the Jewish people and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 are frequently seen as the modern fulfillment of this biblical promise.
While often interpreted as a religious, eternal gift to the Jewish people, it is a deeply significant, and debated, issue regarding both theology and modern territorial rights.
The Promised Land-By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer - 29 July 2025
Let’s look at ‘The Promised Land’ from a biblical and prophetic perspective.First of all: Who is the legitimate owner of the land? Is it Israel? No, it is God.He tells Israel in Leviticus 25:23: “The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is Mine and you are but aliens and My tenants.” God owns the land, and it cannot be sold permanently to anyone else without His permission. The Lord God decided to give the Promised Land to the nation of Israel. He says in Psalm 105:8-11:“He remembers His Covenant forever, the word He commanded, for a thousand generations, the Covenant He made with Abraham, the oath He swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting Covenant: ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.’”“God owns the Land of Israel, and it cannot be sold permanently to anyone else without His permission”The land of Canaan certainly includes Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria (where important Biblical cities are located, like Hebron and Sichem). But what about Gaza—is it part of the Promised Land? Yes, it is. Gaza is included in the land allotted to the tribe of Judah in Joshua 15. Zephaniah prophesies in chapter 2:2:4-7 that “Gaza will be abandoned and Ashkelon left in ruins”, but that “[i]t will belong to the remnant of the house of Judah; there they will find pasture. In the evening they will lie down in the houses of Ashkelon. The Lord their God will care for them; He will restore their fortunes.”Although Israel left Gaza voluntarily in 2005, one-day it will again belong to Israel, to the tribe of Judah. The Promised Land of Canaan also includes the area known in the Bible as ‘Bashan’, the land east of the Jordan River, now located partly in Jordan and partly in Syria. This is where two and a half tribes lived: Reuben, Gad and half of the tribe of Manasseh. Look at Numbers 21:33-35 and Deuteronomy 3:12-13; 29:7-8; 34:1-4.The problem is not only the West Bank of the River Jordan – that has always been even the heartland of Israel—but also part of the eastside, the Eastbank of the River Jordan, today called the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.“The problem is not only the West Bank of the River Jordan – always been the heartland of Israel—but also part of the Eastbank of the River Jordan”You could say that Syria and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan today are occupying God’s land. The same goes for part of the undivided City of Jerusalem. While Israel unified the city after the June 1967 Six Day war, the Kingdom of Jordan currently manages the Temple Mount in the heart of Jerusalem on behalf of the Muslim world. However, this is Mount Sion, of which the Lord God of Israel says in Psalm 132:13-14: “…For the Lord has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling: ‘This is My resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it…’”.One question remains. What about the Biblical rights of non-Jewish people living in the Promised Land of Israel? Does the Bible speak about them as well? Yes, it does. In Ezekiel 47:21-23 the Lord says:“You are to distribute this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. You are to allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens who have settled among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. In whatever tribe the alien settles, there you are to give him his inheritance,” declares the Sovereign Lord.”So civil rights for foreigners (non-Jews) living— maybe already for centuries—in the Promised Land of Israel? Yes! But an independent Palestinian State on the Land that God Promised to Israel? No. That is a bridge too far.

happen and I said they would have and I still hold by this that they'd
have an area in Lebanon that's as big as if not bigger than the Goland
Heights and they will hold on to it.It's like they're putting a buffer
state in there. And actually within that buffer state, there will be
towns and villages, but the Christian towns in particular will be
protected by the Israelis because years ago is um um Lebanon was very
much a Christian sort of uh country, a very large Christian um uh as was
as was um Egypt. Uh very Christian. and and I feel that um those
Christian um groups will be protected by Israel but that will part of
that will be trying to create um a merger eventually with Israel and
we'll also see in the coming two years ahead that I feel that Israel
will absorb the West Bank into Israel between the next two to three
years we're going to this is why I don't see it settling down in the war
with Iran you can't just step out of it because Israel is going to
think to itself, "Yeah, we're going to just go ahead and complete the
agenda that many of the what we would call the Zionists had wanted to
do. We're going to expand. We're going to make us We're going to get rid
of the West Bank problem once and for all. We're going to get rid of the
Lebanon problem once and for all who will stop us. Will Jordan stop us?
No.The people from the West Bank, I feel, in Palestine will flee into
Jordan. Will um will will anybody stop it? And I also feel that they'll
do a similar thing to what happened when Israel first formed as a
country and they will try to buy up the land. I see the land of Gaza
being bought up by Israel. Um there will be no Palestine in the future.
Um and the USA won't intervene. They'll stand back. And we all know we
already know how weak Europe is and the European allies were.So you're
by not getting involved in wars, you're given can't blanch to Israel to
do what it wants. And I feel Israel will expand its borders and make
itself into a a a bigger country. Um and simultaneously when all this is
going on, um I do feel that there's going to
be a I've spoken
about this, but I do feel there's going to be a flare up with the with
the Kurds as well that there's a hope to make their own country. This
will happen not just in the north of Iran, but also I feel Turkey as
well, some of the tur Kurds in Turkey and in Syria. So, we're going to
see a new country being formed there eventually. I mean, they were kind
of written out of history in the past, but they they always had their
own country, wanted their own country, and I'm seeing Turkey trying to
stop it. So again, this creates more conflict because Turkey wants to
start to get militarily involved in things and I may even see Turkey
moving in to the north of Iran in the future. Now the good news is that
there will eventually be an uprising in Iran, but that will be and it
will bring the democracy that we hope to see um in in Iran. We will see
and I've spoken about this at length in the past but we will see the
return of the sha or the the son of the sha as a figurehead not as a
leader but as a figurehead and Iran will become a model of a new form of
democracy a different sort of democracy but it has a democra democratic
feel to it even like the way Jordan has a king we but we have a
figurehead and like Thailand has a king or Britain has a king um we see a
figurehead there in in the son of the sha and but we have to be patient
for this because the people in Iran at the moment are absolutely
terrified and scared and shell shocked too much so to revolt at the
moment. So I feel that that will happen but I feel it's going to take
time. It's going to take at least a year maybe two but there will be an
uprising that will pull down the um regime there in Iran. But the big
problem coming out of this and and this is the bad news in many ways is
the problem that's going to be um building up now with Russia and
China's resentment towards the USA. China's oil now is being squeezed.
Iran and Venezuela have dried up as sources. We've already and I spoke
about Cuba a long long time back, didn't I? That Cuba is going to be
bowled into this as well. And we're seeing Cuba's oil being dra drained
from the country and the country on its knees going to be soon when it
comes to energy a and and maybe moves made against Cuba. talking now
keeping with the theme um I feel that there's going to be a growing
resentment with Russia and China towards um the USA's rising power and I
feel that Russia and China are going to going to do money more deals
the oil traded for um weapons and so forth between Russia and China
expensive oil they can buy very expensive military equipment and then I
see them forming a a you know a a a a a a group that will then be ready
to challenge the USA and that will happen around the time of the um 2028
elections and that's why I feel the elections uh may be delayed um
because of the c crisis that grows then where I feel that will probably
be Taiwan that will be the trigger point for that. So we got a lot more
ahead. So will the Iranian war end? Well, it's kind of morphing into
something more. That's the fear with this, I'm afraid. But we will
ultimately get through it all. But it's also been a bit of a smoke
screen as well because who's talking about uh for example uh what's
going on with the Epstein files?
WELL HERES SOME LAND STEALING ISRAELI TERRITORY BY ARABS.WHAT ISRAELIS FINALLY GOT BACK.ISRAEL IS TAKING BACK GAZA, NOW LEBANON, THE WESTBANK.GOD IS GIVING ISRAEL PART BY PART OF THEIR PROMISED LAND.AND IT GOES UP TO IRAN ALSO.ISRAEL GIVE JESUS ALL THE PRAISE AND GLORY. Longtime resident: 'I built this house stone by stone'11 Palestinian families evicted after court found Jews owned their East Jerusalem homes before 1948-1970 law allowing Jews to reclaim property lost before establishment of Israel leads to families being forced from Silwan homes where they have lived for decades By ToI Staff, AFP and Nurit Yohanan-Today, 12:46 am-MAR 26,26
Eleven Palestinian families were evicted from their homes in the Batan al-Hawa section of East Jerusalem’s Silwan neighborhood on Wednesday, following a Supreme Court ruling from last year determining that their houses were owned by Jews before 1948.The ruling said that because Jews owned the houses before Jordan occupied East Jerusalem in 1948, the year of Israel’s War of Independence, their ownership must be transferred to Ateret Cohanim, a right-wing foundation that works to strengthen the Jewish presence in East Jerusalem and petitioned to receive the properties.Palestinian families had petitioned against the eviction, but their appeals were rejected late last year in several rulings that ordered 157 residents of the neighborhood to leave their homes.Yosef Basbous, whose family was among those evicted on Wednesday, said in a statement, “Our family was expelled in 1948 and dispersed in refugee camps in the West Bank. I arrived in Silwan with my parents more than 60 years ago. I built this house stone by stone, brick by brick, nail by nail.”“The police say they are implementing the court’s decisions in accordance with the law,” he continued. “But what kind of law is this that can expel me, who has been here for more than 60 years?”The Peace Now settlement watchdog characterized the evictions as “ethnic cleansing.”Breaking: ongoing Ethnic Cleansing operations in Silwan, Jerusalem: large numbers of Israeli Occupation Forces moved in to forcibly displace families from a dozen homes and immediately replace them with imported Jewish Settlers though "Ateret Cohanim" settler organisation pic.twitter.com/6Y8Afjb3AB — Jalal ???? (@JalalAK_jojo) March 25, 2026“The government and a discriminatory legal system are expelling an entire Palestinian community and replacing it” with Jewish nationalists, the left-wing group said. “This is happening in the Jerusalem of 2026, and it is a stain that will not be erased from Israel.”The eviction orders target residents of the hilltop neighborhood south of Jerusalem’s Old City, and are based on a 1970 law that allows Jews who lost property before the establishment of Israel to reclaim it.Israeli courts have not denied that Palestinians in Silwan had rights to their homes. In some cases, they even ruled that the homes had been legally purchased by the Palestinian families. However, the courts decided that the deed held by the Benvenisti Trust, a Jewish endowment, from the late 19th century took precedence and justified the evictions. Ateret Cohanim obtained trusteeship over the endowment in the early 2000s.Israeli authorities rely on Ottoman-era documents indicating that Jews of Yemeni origin once lived on the land and left during Palestinian revolts between 1929 and 1936.The left-wing B’Tselem NGO said the eviction “marks the beginning of a large wave of displacement affecting around 2,200 people in Silwan who face imminent risk of forced displacement … (including) 90 families (700 individuals) in Batan al-Hawa.”Israeli authorities have evicted many Palestinian families from the area in recent years, and more families await the enforcement of eviction orders.Homes that have been vacated are often demolished or transferred to right-wing Jewish nationalists, who frequently mark their presence with blue metal Stars of David, making the new occupants highly visible in East Jerusalem. In Silwan, hundreds of the Jewish activists live among around 50,000 Palestinians.
G7 meets in France to narrow transatlantic Iran split.
Paris, France, March 26 (AFP) Mar 26, 2026-Foreign ministers from the G7 meet outside Paris from Thursday with European nations and allies seeking to narrow differences with the US on the Middle East war while keeping other crises like Ukraine and Gaza high on the agenda. The two-day meeting of seven leading industrialised democracies at the Vaux-de-Cernay Abbey in the countryside outside Paris comes as the White House said President Donald Trump is ready to "unleash hell" if Iran does not accept a deal to end the US-Israeli war against the Islamic republic.Making his first trip abroad since the war started, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will join fellow top diplomats from Canada, Germany, Italy, France, Japan and the UK, but only on the second day.One of the objectives of France, which holds the rotating G7 presidency this year, is "to address the major global imbalances which explain in many respects the level of tension and rivalry we are witnessing with very concrete consequences for our fellow citizens," French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told AFP on Tuesday. With Lebanon pulled into the war as Iran-backed Shia militant group Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel, Barrot also urged Israel to "refrain" from sending in forces to take control of a zone in south Lebanon. In a bid to broaden the scope of the elite G7 club -- whose origins go back to the first G6 summit held in the nearby Chateau de Rambouillet in 1975 -- France has also invited foreign ministers from key emerging markets Brazil and India as well as Ukraine, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.France will also on Monday host a separate G7 meeting bringing together finance ministers, energy ministers and central bank governors, Finance Minister Roland Lescure told RTL radio on Thursday. The meeting, to be held via video call, will address what Lescure described as a "convergence of energy issues, economic issues and inflation issues".-'Misguided policies'-While all G7 nations are close US allies, none have unambiguously offered support for the assault on Iran, angering Trump.German Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil even complained Trump's "misguided policies" in the Middle East were hitting Germany's economy.Trump has claimed the US is speaking to a "top person" within Iran's clerical system in talks to end the conflict. But Iranian state TV said on Wednesday Tehran had rejected a peace plan conveyed through Pakistan.Trump's threat to hit Iranian energy facilities -- which he is now holding back on amid the purported talks -- troubled European allies who have all called for de-escalation and not engaged militarily in the conflict.British foreign minister Yvette Cooper on Tuesday voiced unease that the war had shifted focus away from the Gaza peace plan and violence in the occupied West Bank.Over four years into Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Barrot told AFP that support "for the Ukrainian resistance" and pressure on Russia would continue.
Drone crashes in Romania after Russia strikes Ukraine.
Bucharest, March 26 (AFP) Mar 26, 2026-A drone crashed near a village in Romania on Thursday after overnight Russian air strikes in neighbouring Ukraine, the government announced, in the latest such incident since Moscow invaded Ukraine.NATO member Romania, a key ally of Kyiv, has repeatedly seen violations of its airspace and drone fragments falling onto its soil following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022."At 00:44, a drone deflected by Ukrainian air defence entered national airspace for a distance of approximately four kilometres" (2.5 miles), the defence ministry said on Thursday."The drone crashed two kilometres from the village of Parches, outside the inhabited area," it said.No casualties or property damage were reported, only "a patch of burned vegetation and drone debris", it added.People in the area received phone alerts about the possible danger. The drone was found after someone alerted the authorities, according to emergency services. Two F-16 aircraft were scrambled during the night. In 2025, Romania adopted a law allowing it to shoot down drones which breach its airspace, but no such action has been taken so far.Earlier this month, Ukraine and Romania announced their intention to produce drones together in Romania using up to 200 million euros ($230 million) funding from the EU's SAFE Initiative. The two countries signed a statement of intent on the matter during a visit to Bucharest by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Germany, Australia deepen defence ties.
Sydney, March 26 (AFP) Mar 26, 2026-Australia and Germany agreed Thursday to simplify hosting each other's troops and cooperate on space defence during a visit by German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius to Canberra.Australia's Defence Minister Richard Marles said the two countries would sign a status of forces agreement making it "much easier for our defence forces to operate from each other's countries".Australia will join Germany's plan to build an "early warning system for space", which Pistorius said was a response to Russia and China's growing capability to blind and destroy satellites.Germany intends to deploy an "independent global network of surveillance sensors" to defend its systems, he added.Australia will also add missiles from German company TDW to its expanding domestic manufacture of guided weapons, designed to hedge against shortages in the Indo Pacific as the Ukraine and Middle East conflicts strain global supply.Pistorius has emphasised shared interests among mid-sized countries in Europe and the Indo Pacific to "uphold international rules", and protect trade routes, energy supplies and security, while visiting Japan, Singapore and Australia this week."Security in Europe and security in the Indo Pacific are two sides of the same coin," he said in a speech at the National Press Club in Canberra, where he highlighted Beijing's support of Russia's war in Ukraine. The US and Israel's war with Iran is an example of how international rules have come into question, he said, adding the immediate focus must be how to end the war."We don't want to get sucked into that war," he said."What concerns me the most about that war is there was no consultation, there is no strategy, there is no clear objective and the worst thing from my perspective is there is no exit strategy," he said.Germany would potentially be willing to join an operation to secure navigation in the Strait of Hormuz after a ceasefire, he said.
Russia pulls more staff from Iran nuclear plant after reported air strike.
Moscow, March 25 (AFP) Mar 25, 2026-Russia pulled another group of staff from Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant on Wednesday after what it described as a "reckless" air strike near the plant's reactor.A projectile landed within the plant's compound on Tuesday night, Iran's atomic energy organisation said, accusing the United States and Israel of being responsible.Russia partially constructed the plant on Iran's Gulf coast and its technicians help operate it."We are deeply outraged by this reckless and irresponsible manifestation of a destructive course of action," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement."It appears that the aggressors are deliberately seeking to provoke a large-scale nuclear disaster in the region," the ministry added.Russia's atomic energy agency announced earlier that it was evacuating staff from the plant for safety reasons."Today, at approximately 7:20 am Moscow time (0420 GMT), 163 people left Bushehr for the Iranian-Armenian border," Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev was quoted as saying by the state RIA news agency."Right now, about 300 remain... Some people will stay. I think it will be a few dozen people who will oversee the equipment," he added in comments to reporters, including AFP.Rosatom had already withdrawn 150 people working at the plant, amid the threat of US and Israeli airstrikes. Before the conflict began, Russia was in the process of building two new reactors at the plant. The UN's nuclear watchdog issued a statement on Tuesday calling for "maximum restraint to avoid nuclear safety risks".
German chemical giant BASF opens vast China complex.
Frankfurt, Germany, March 26 (AFP) Mar 26, 2026-German chemical titan BASF officially opened a giant, 8.7 billion euro ($10 billion) production complex in China Thursday, a major but controversial expansion in the world's number two economy. The complex in Zhanjiang, Guandong province, sprawls over an area of about four square kilometres (1.5 square miles) and brings together numerous plants producing a vast array of chemicals. It is the biggest ever investment project by BASF, which has long insisted that expanding in China, the world's biggest chemical market, is necessary to ensure its future prospects."China remains the market offering the greatest growth for our industry," BASF CEO Markus Kamieth said in an interview with the Handelsblatt financial daily this week."The strong focus on new industries, renewables, and the green transition is a huge opportunity for an innovative chemical company like BASF."The greater focus on Asia comes with Germany's crucial chemical sector in crisis as it battles high energy costs, red tape and fierce competition, in particular from Chinese producers. But the Chinese project has proven controversial at a time that the world's biggest chemical company has embarked on a major cost-cutting drive in its home market.BASF has been axing jobs at its historic site of Ludwigshafen in southwest Germany, and announced in February that it planned to cut back-office jobs in Berlin and shift them to India. There have also been concerns about boosting investments in Communist Party-ruled China, particularly after Berlin urged companies to "de-risk" from the country by diversifying into other markets.BASF has run into problems before in China; last year the company exited two joint ventures in the Xinjiang region after its local partner was alleged to have participated in rights abuses against the local Uyghur minority. In addition, analysts have questioned whether the investment will pay off -- the Chinese economy is facing a long slowdown and there is already overcapacity in the market.Over 2,000 people are employed at the Zhanjiang site, which will produce a range of chemicals for sectors ranging from transport to consumer goods and electronics. Most of the products manufactured at the site are intended for customers in China. It is BASF's third-biggest complex worldwide, after Ludwigshafen and Antwerp in Belgium.sr/cw
Hezbollah rejects truce talks as Israel presses Lebanon strikes.
Beirut, Lebanon, March 26 (AFP) Mar 26, 2026-Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem said negotiations with Israel under fire would amount to "surrender", as the Iran-backed group launched attacks and Israel said it was expanding a "buffer zone" inside Lebanon.Israel, which occupied southern Lebanon for around two decades until 2000, has kept up strikes on its northern neighbour and sent ground troops to take control of a strip up to the Litani River, around 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the border.Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military had already "created a genuine security zone" and was now expending it, pushing deeper into Lebanon."We are simply creating a larger buffer zone" that could prevent a ground invasion of Israel and missile attacks, Netanyahu said in a video shared by his office.Hezbollah meanwhile issued dozens of statements claiming attacks on Israeli forces, and said it also launched missiles early on Thursday at military sites in central Israel, where air raid sirens sounded.Israeli media said six Hezbollah rockets headed for central areas were all intercepted.UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on both sides to cease fire. He warned Israel against replicating "the Gaza model" in southern Lebanon as some Israeli officials have suggested, raising fears of mass displacement.Hezbollah said its fighters had launched more than 80 attacks on Wednesday, the largest daily number in the current war, and attacked Israeli forces in nine border towns.Israel's military said that one of its soldiers was severely wounded by rocket fire in southern Lebanon and another by mortar shell, having earlier reported an officer being lightly injured in combat.Rockets fired towards the Haifa area in northern Israel resulted in no injuries.Lebanon was pulled into the Middle East war when Hezbollah began firing rockets into Israel on March 2 to avenge the killing of Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In an attempt to put an end to the fighting, Lebanon's president is calling for unprecedented direct negotiations with Israel, which has so far rebuffed his proposal.Hezbollah chief Qassem said Wednesday his group would have none of it: "When negotiations with the Israeli enemy are proposed under fire, this is an imposition of surrender."- Health workers killed -Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported Israeli strikes and artillery shelling in several locations in the south on Wednesday, where the health ministry said at least eight people were killed. The NNA also reported an airstrike on Beirut's southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold.Israel's military said it struck a "command centre" there after a renewed evacuation warning. An AFP correspondent saw a street covered in debris, including shattered cement and warped metal, after the early morning strike, while an apartment building's upper floors appeared damaged. The area has been targeted multiple times during the conflict and is largely empty of residents, who have fled.In southern Lebanon, Israel's military said ground troops "dismantled a weapons storage facility" and the air force killed "several terrorists".Hezbollah said its fighters targeted Israeli troops "massed in the border towns of Naqura and Qawzah" and in sites across the border "with more than 100 rockets" on Wednesday.According to the Lebanese health ministry, 42 health workers are among more than 1,000 people killed in Lebanon in more than three weeks of Israeli strikes.Lebanese authorities say upwards of one million people have been displaced.
Hezbollah says negotiating with Israel would be surrender, amid strikes on Lebanon.
Beirut, Lebanon, March 25 (AFP) Mar 25, 2026-Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem said Wednesday that negotiating with Israel under fire would amount to "surrender" for Lebanon, as Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu said his forces were "expanding" a "buffer zone" in Lebanon.Netanyahu said the Israeli military had "created a genuine security zone" inside Lebanon and was "expanding this zone," as its ground forces tried to push deeper into Lebanon, on a day when Hezbollah issued dozens of statements claiming attacks on Israeli forces.Israel, which occupied southern Lebanon for around two decades until 2000, has once again sent ground troops into Lebanon, saying it is attempting to take control of the area up to the Litani River, around 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the border. As the two sides fought in the south, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that "the Gaza model must not be replicated in Lebanon", a comparison previously drawn by Israeli officials talking about their goals in Lebanon."Hezbollah must stop launching attacks into Israel. And Israel must stop its military operations and strikes in Lebanon, which are hitting civilians the hardest," Guterres told reporters at the United Nations.By late on Wednesday, Hezbollah said it had launched more than 80 attacks against Israel, the largest number the Iran-backed group has claimed since the start of the latest war.It also said it had attacked Israeli forces in nine border towns.Israel's military said that one of its soldiers was severely wounded by rocket fire in southern Lebanon, having earlier reported an officer being lightly injured in combat. It also reported several rockets fired towards the Haifa area in northern Israel, but no injuries.- 'Imposition of surrender' -Lebanon was pulled into the Middle East war when Hezbollah began firing rockets into Israel on March 2 to avenge the killing of Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In an attempt to put an end to the fighting, Lebanon's president is calling for unprecedented direct negotiations with Israel, which has so far rebuffed his proposal.Hezbollah chief Qassem said Wednesday his group would have none of it: "When negotiations with the Israeli enemy are proposed under fire, this is an imposition of surrender."Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported Israeli strikes and artillery shelling in several locations in the south on Wednesday. It also said that "enemy warplanes... launched a strike" on Beirut's southern suburbs, after a renewed Israeli army evacuation warning. An AFP correspondent saw a street covered in debris, including shattered cement and warped metal, after the early morning strike, while an apartment building's upper floors appeared damaged. The area has been targeted multiple times during the conflict and is largely empty of residents, who have fled.Late on Wednesday, the Lebanese health ministry reported three people killed by an Israeli airstrike in the Bint Jbeil region of southern Lebanon.Israel's military said it struck Hezbollah targets across Lebanon overnight "including a command centre" in Beirut's southern suburbs. It also said it attacked petrol stations belonging to the Al-Amana fuel company, which it says is controlled by Hezbollah and finances the group.- Paramedics killed -According to the ministry, 42 health workers are among more than 1,000 people killed in Lebanon in more than three weeks of Israeli strikes.Lebanese authorities say upwards of one million people have been displaced.Hezbollah said its fighters on Wednesday targeted Israeli troops "massed in the border towns of Naqura and Qawzah" and in sites across the border "with more than 100 rockets".The statement came as the group claimed a series of attacks on Israeli troops in south Lebanon, northern Israel, and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. In an earlier statement, Israel's military said ground troops in southern Lebanon had "dismantled a weapons storage facility", and the air force killed "several terrorists".It also said troops had "dismantled Hezbollah command centres in which numerous weapons were located", without specifying where.
Trump defends Iran war amid economic fallout, backlash from Republican lawmakers-US president says country is ‘winning so big,’ but voters are concerned about rising prices and GOP congresspeople sour at a briefing on a potential ground invasion By AP and Jacob Magid-Today, 7:44 am-MAR 26,26
US President Donald Trump defended the Iran war at a Republican fundraising event on Wednesday, as the war’s economic fallout has mounted and lawmakers in his own party expressed notes of dissent.Trump said the US “is winning so big” in the war in Iran, but it is keeping gas prices high, travelers are facing unprecedented airport security wait times and Americans remain concerned about steep costs of living.Trump addressed the National Republican Congressional Committee’s annual fundraising dinner at Washington’s Union Station roughly seven months before the November 3 midterm elections in the US, in which the incumbent president’s party historically has lost seats in Congress. The gathering also came as polling shows most Americans believe the US military action against Iran, undertaken in conjunction with Israel, has gone too far, and voters are more and more worried about Trump’s failure to address affordability issues.US Sen. Lisa Murkowski, a moderate Republican from Alaska, said her constituents are asking about the path forward in Iran and whether Trump will deploy troops there.“There’s a lot that people want to know, so whether it’s how it’s being communicated in the media, or how it’s being communicated here in the Congress, I think it’s lacking right now,” Murkowski said.Trump has insisted that the current economic jolt will be temporary, and that he can bring the conflict to a close quickly — all of which defy the more complicated and nuanced political and economic realities.Gas prices were $3.12 a gallon in the US when Democratic president Joe Biden left office and were just under $3 before the US-Israeli strikes began. Today’s average is $3.98, according to motorist group AAA.Trump has suggested the war is worth some short-term political jitters.“I can’t say that ‘Gee, I don’t want to have any impact on oil prices for three or four weeks, or two months, and we’re going to let Iran have a nuclear weapon,’” he said.During his speech on Wednesday night, he acknowledged the impact on the US economy but said he felt the attack was necessary. “We had to cut out the cancer,” he said. “The cancer was Iran with a nuclear weapon, and we’ve cut it out.”In the meantime, about 59 percent of Americans say the US military strikes in Iran have been excessive, while 45% are “extremely” or “very” concerned about being able to afford gas in the next few months, according to a poll released Wednesday by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.Trump blamed Americans’ sour opinion of the war on media coverage that doesn’t echo his claim that Iran has been militarily destroyed. Iran has maintained its ability to strike targets in the region and effectively shut down the Strait of Hormuz, snarling the global oil trade. Meanwhile, some of Trump’s own war objectives remain undefined or unfulfilled.“You know, if you listen to the news, you think we’re losing a war in Iran where we’re decimating the other side,” Trump said.Prior to the event, Republican US lawmakers said Pentagon officials failed to give a congressional panel sufficient information regarding a potential US ground operation against Iran during a classified briefing.“We want to know more about what’s going on, what the options are, and why they’re being considered, and we’re just not getting enough answers on those questions,” House Armed Services Committee chair Rep. Mike Rogers told reporters after the hearing.Rogers said troop movements in the Middle East should be “thoughtful and deliberate,” indicating that what he heard from Pentagon officials didn’t reflect that.“That’s what I conveyed to them at the end of this hearing, is this has consequences if you don’t remedy it,” he added.Given Rogers’ hawkish reputation, his criticism indicated that Trump could lose support from key members of his party if he proceeds with a ground operation against Iran. The hearing came as the Pentagon prepares to deploy thousands of troops from the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East.Asked about Rodgers’ concerns, Senate Armed Services Committee chair Roger Wicker told reporters, “Let me put it this way: I can see why he might have said that.”Also upset by the hearing was fellow Republican Nancy Mace, who has been more critical of the war from the get-go.“Just walked out of a House Armed Services briefing on Iran. Let me repeat: I will not support troops on the ground in Iran, even more so after this briefing,” Mace wrote on X.“The justifications presented to the American public for the war in Iran were not the same military objectives we were briefed on today in the House Armed Services Committee. This gap is deeply troubling. The longer this war continues, the faster it will lose the support of Congress and the American people,” she added in a separate post.At Wednesday’s event, US Rep. Nick LaLota, Republican of New York, said voters in his Long Island-based district are concerned about affordability and safety. But he also said the war in Iran means “the president is right to think about America’s long-term security.”On whether Iran policy will be an anchor for Republicans, LaLota encouraged taking a wait-and-see approach leading up to November, and said any fallout could depend on whether the US has stopped Iran’s nuclear ambitions and reopened the Strait of Hormuz.“I think this could be a thing that bolsters conservatives’ approach to national security,” he said.Richard Hudson, chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee, similarly said it was too early to jump to political conclusions.“If we’re still at this stage in the war in the fall, then I’ll talk to you about that,” Hudson said. “But the president says it’s going to be short, so I believe him. I think he did the right thing by doing what he did.”
Hezbollah fires missiles at central Israel; 2 soldiers seriously hurt in Lebanon-Five other soldiers lightly hurt; woman moderately wounded while seeking shelter from attack; terror group claims salvo targeted IDF HQ, but army says missiles intercepted By Emanuel Fabian,Lazar Berman,Nava Freiberg and ToI Staff Today, 6:32 am-MAR 26,26
Hezbollah fired a salvo of several missiles at central Israel overnight, hours after two soldiers were seriously hurt in Lebanon in separate incidents. The Lebanese terror group claimed that the salvo targeted the Israel Defense Forces’ Kirya headquarters in Tel Aviv, but the IDF said all of the missiles were successfully intercepted. Hezbollah also fired additional rockets at northern border communities overnight, in addition to Safed and the Golan, with no injuries reported. The Magen David Adom ambulance service reported that no one was directly hurt by the attack on the Tel Aviv area, though a woman was moderately wounded when she sustained a head injury while seeking shelter from the missiles and two others were lightly hurt in a car accident at the time. MDA said multiple missile fragments were found after the salvo. The attack comes more than three weeks after Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, renewed its rocket and drone fire on Israel amid the US-Israeli war with the Islamic Republic.Since then, Hezbollah has been firing an average of about 150 rockets per day, according to the IDF. Roughly two-thirds of the daily rocket fire has been directed at Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon and along the border, with the remaining third aimed at Israel. In response, the IDF has deepened its presence on the ground in southern Lebanon and has conducted heavy airstrikes on thousands of Hezbollah targets, calling on large numbers of civilians to evacuate southern Lebanon. The military has said that it has killed around 700 Hezbollah operatives, including hundreds of members of the terror group’s elite Radwan Force, since hostilities escalated amid the war with Iran.As talks to end the Iran war have gotten underway, Tehran has reportedly demanded that the Israel-Hezbollah conflict cease as part of a peace deal. But on Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was creating an expanded buffer zone in Lebanon to push back threats from Hezbollah anti-tank missiles. Now, he said, the focus is on “dismantling Hezbollah.”“We are determined to do everything to fundamentally change the situation in Lebanon,” he promised. On Wednesday, the IDF said a reservist was seriously wounded by Hezbollah rocket fire in southern Lebanon earlier in the day. The rocket strike also injured a reserve battalion commander and another reservist, both of whom were listed in good condition.Early on Thursday morning, the IDF said another soldier was seriously wounded on Wednesday by a Hezbollah mortar in southern Lebanon. The mortar strike also lightly injured an officer and two other troops. The IDF believes Hezbollah still possesses thousands of short-range rockets, along with hundreds of longer-range projectiles. The IDF has said that Hezbollah is launching most of its attacks from deeper within southern Lebanon, and not from close to the border.Negotiations have been floated between Israel and the Lebanese government to resolve the conflict, though on Wednesday, Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem reportedly called talks “an imposition of surrender.”The same day, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar called on the United Nations Security Council to formally designate Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, in a letter to the body shared by his office.“Hezbollah has carried out more than 3,500 attacks against Israel since March 2. The attacks include the launching of rockets, missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles toward Israel,” Sa’ar wrote in the letter. The foreign minister called on the Security Council to condemn Hezbollah, designate it as a terrorist organization, pressure Lebanon to disarm it in line with UN resolutions, and hold Iran accountable for supporting the group.Sa’ar stressed that “Israel will not accept violations of its sovereignty and attacks against it and its citizens and will take all necessary measures to protect them, in accordance with international law.”He also reiterated criticism of inaction from Beirut.“The failure of the government of Lebanon to act against Hezbollah’s military infrastructure demonstrates a lack of will and sufficient effort and inability to effectively address Hezbollah,” he wrote. Also on Wednesday, Kuwait’s Interior Ministry said it arrested six people linked to Hezbollah who were planning “assassinations” in the Gulf state. Those arrested were planning “assassinations targeting symbols and leaders of the state and recruited people to carry out these missions,” the ministry said in a statement.AFP contributed to this report.
